ISX15 Lower Concept Gear Change

Attention: Cummins Service Managers, Parts Managers, Dealers.

Product Affected: ISX15 Date: 22/02/2013

Description: ISX15 CM2250 Lower Concept gear is cut back to allow clearance for
the fuel pump idler gear.

Observation: The purpose of this Service Alert is to make all Cummins South Pacific
repair locations aware of the change made to the lower concept gear on ISX15.
The change was made to allow clearance for the fuel pump idler gear on ISX15 CM2250.
With the old gear design (P/N 3680546) the fuel pump idler gear would contact the base
gear and slightly contact the bias gear.
To eliminate the contact with the bias gear the base gear was cut back.

Action:
 Ensure all parts and service staff involved in supporting this product, are fully
aware of the above mentioned observations.
 The ISX15 CM2250 lower scissors gear was approved as backwards
compatible for the all the ISX15 products including the CM871.
 The new gear P/N 3686910 superseded the old gear P/N 3680546 and is
backwards compatible.
