Introduction

In accordance to DepEd annual implementation of Mid- Year In – service Training,


Lanton Elementary School held its own school – based seminar to facilitate professional
training and learning opportunities for teacher.
The training covered five days from October 21 to 25 in the year 2019. With the support
of our school principal, Mohamad A. Andatuan, and the leadership of INSET Focal
Person, Ma’am Liezel L. Imarga and Co-Focal Person, Ma’am Annabella R. Salamanca,
successfully implemented the said event.

It is a pertinent will for teachers to continually advance their understanding of the


philosophy and pedagogy of education in order to provide quality and relevant
education.

INSET allows teachers to acquire professional goals for the success of the school as a
whole and increase the current level of knowledge and skills in their target areas. It will
help mobilize teachers towards a modernized way of teaching and orient them of the
latest trends in the teaching industry.

Every year is another opportunity for teachers to gain knowledge on the best way to
improve their methods and strategies. It is even more imperative now due to the change
in the attitudes and needs of learners in adherence to the growing advancement of
technology in their lives.
Rationale

In – service training is conducted annually to address the continuing professional


development of public school teachers. Each topic covered in the seminar is carefully
selected and planned to improve educator’s weak points and strengthen their strengths.

The training will be a culmination of each teacher’s skills and efforts towards creating
better learning environment for the learners. It will also serve as an orientation for new
teachers in order to familiarize them in their work environment and have an overview of
the organization’s expectations.

Furthermore, the training will ensure that teachers are equipped with augmented
strategies and methods whether it be in the area of classroom management,
documentation, curricular activities and more.

It is with these thought that this seminar is conceptualize.

Objectives:
The seminar – workshop aims to:

1. To conduct orientation of MPRE activities of the school


2. To align the IPCRs of the Teachers to OPCR of the Principal to the Division
Strategic Objectives
3. To give updates on the accomplishments on ACCESS and QUALITY
4. To enhance the competence of teachers in writing action research
5. To revisit SIP 2019-2022 and AIP 2019-2022
6. To require teachers to utilize different required school forms
7. To refine group output on IPCR and to reproduce individual IPCRs.
a. Meeting

Sir Mohamad A. Andatuan, school principal called a meeting to assign individual


tasks for the event.

b. Invitation

The invitation were given to each participants containing the program and
schedule of activities each day. Wide dissemination through social media were
was also implemented to secure full attendance.

Day 1

Lanton Elementary School commenced week – long Mid-year INSET ‘19

LES teachers actively participated in the opening program. The weeklong Mid-Year In-
service Training 2019 commenced on October 21, 2019. Registration started at 8:00
am. The opening program begun by a prayer which followed by the singing of the
national anthem, aspirations using AVP. The participants enjoyed the Zumba dance to
energize the event. The MOL facilitator was the KD teachers.

Sir Mohammad A. Andatuan started the program by addressing the crowd in his
opening remarks. He expressed his gratitude to LES teachers for participating in the
event so they revamp their teaching strategies and gain a better understanding on
DepEd’s goal of producing globalized educators. He then encouraged the teachers to
not take the seminar lightly but rather, treat it as opportunity to build professional
development as well as intensify the camaraderie between the groups.

In the afternoon, all schools belong to Apopong District convened to one place for a so
called District Meeting. The activities were as follows:

a. Registration of participants per school.


b. Roll call of participants with their yell
c. Statement of purpose
d. Message from Regional Director Sir Allan Farnazo
e. Intermission number per school
f. District Accomplishment report by Sir Dante P. Cuadrado

It was ended successfully with a closing remarks and closing prayer.


Day 2

Objective:
to align the IPCRs of the Teachers to OPCR of the Principal to the Division
Strategic Objectives

Activity
- Revisitation of the alignment of the OPCR to the division S.O and its alignment to
the teachers’ IPCRs
Registration of the seminar started at 8:00 am. The opening ceremony was facilitated by
the Grade I teachers. Recap of the previous discussion was reviewed by Ma’am Cynthia
B. Tuban. First speaker of the day was Sir Norne B. Belgira, Master Teacher I
