It is with great sadness we announce the death of our beloved son and brother, Michael Scheibelhut who passed away on
Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the age of 25 years. Michael was smart and curious, typically blazing his own path rather than
following the conventional one. He had a great love of science, cooking, nature and pets. He spent countless hours caring for
his pets, reading and gardening. Michael's pets ranged from guinea pigs and sugar gliders to scorpions, lizards and
salamanders. When he cooked dinner for the family, we never knew what exotic meal was coming but inevitably it was tasty
and always very spicy. Michael loved nature and the outdoors, whether hunting and fishing or just exploring, turning over
rocks to see what lived under them. Michael is survived by his parents, Ed and Laureen; his sister Sarah and his paternal
grandparents, John and Carolyn Scheibelhut; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael was predeceased by his
maternal grandparents, Irene (Hill) MacFarlane and Milton MacFarlane; and uncles, Stephen MacFarlane and Mark
Scheibelhut. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday,
September 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at a later date. Reception to follow in the church hall.
