Orion was born in a poor family, his father is a wood carver and his mother
is helping with selling their products. He was first in his class, but last in
sports. He never had any friends, except his step brother, whom he envied
for being a creature born with divine powers and was praised by the
family and the whole village. At young age he worked part time organizing
books at the local library, learning from those books about the world and
it's infinite potential. He also worked with his father at the shop. After a
lot of study he decided that he can become whoever he wants, with so
many possibilities in this world. With his wood curving skills and tools he
created some weird wooden items, fantasizing how those items could
become magical tools for adventuring. One day, some people arrived at
the village, tinkerers, and they had indeed mechanical and magical items
around them. Immediately he was inspired and decided this is his chance,
his dream could become true...
He stole some books from them and some mysterious devices, and
started reading and learning about arcana, tinkering, alchemy, herbalism
and many other marvelous things. The knowledge was in the palm of his
hand to learn it... He was for the first time... Happy. After all this years
when everybody, his family, his school, the church, people from the
village, all but his brother, were telling him that his life is settled, he is a
nobody who will sell chairs 'till his end days... now he had the knowledge
that he always craved.. He study immensely and with extreme passion, he
experimented, he failed a thousand times, but never stopped. He began
stealing locals and outsiders for resources, he went to nearby forests and
mines to gather ore, wood and herbs, he hunted small animals for body
parts and venom and he studied his brothers powers and how they might
work. He became very good at creating various things with gears, ADDITIONAL FEATURES & TRAITS
bearings, oils and other stuff, dismantling them and recreating them into
something else. At some point, at last, he learned the essence of arcane
magic, and how to harness it and imbue it into objects... the first thing he
created was a small mechanical spider, connected to his alchemy belt
with a tube. He tried to infuse it with magic, and he succeeded. The spider
came to life. That was his prototype work of a living mechanical creature.
he named it Aracheal. It could mend items and heal people, using
resources from his alchemy belt. It can only work while connected to the
tube, so it cannot leave Orion. His second "friend" was Blockwork, a
clockwork mouse, that could move without the need of winding it. His
latest "friend" is Cilvaya, a mechanical owl that can take the form of an
egg, but it still is in making progress. It can activate, but it sometimes
malfunctions. Other than those "living" creations, Orion made a bracer,
where he can put in alchemical capsules that can create fire, lightning or
contain poison gas. It is his first made unique weapon and he play tested
it with various trees, rocks and some aggressive animals in the forest. It
works quite well. This is an item he will tinker a lot and add new features
whenever he can. After the incident with is brother, where he got kicked
out of the village, he followed him, and now they are both in Buldur's Gate,
trying to figure out, what life has for them. xD
