Principal Accountabilities
1. Construct/update dynamic black oil and compositional reservoir models for ield
development planning.
2. Perform the annual reserves review and generate long term production/injection
forecasts for business planning and drilling/workover schedule.
3. Contribute and integrate reservoir engineering inputs into the short term
(drill/replacement well projects, workover projects and drilling/workover operations),
medium term (reservoir voidage management) and long term ( ield development and
asset value optimisation) activities.
4. Identify target reservoir(s) layers and determine well-reservoir contacts for
new/replacement vertical/deviated/horizontal drilling projects into multi-layered
heterogeneous reservoirs to optimize ield development.
5. Contribute to the well proposals/prognosis. Develop and prepare post-drill reservoir
engineering reports including integration of interpreted reservoir engineering data
with Geological & Petrophysical evaluations.
6. Participate in preparing detailed integrated development plans for undeveloped
hydrocarbon resources.
7. Contribute in the reservoir engineering domain, to the ields’ annual reviews.
8. Recommend the acquisition of reservoir engineering data and maintain reservoir
engineering databases including real time data links.
9. Monitor work compliance by contractors for reservoir engineering data acquisition.
10. Provide on-the-job coaching and development of staff.
- Identify and leverage the key variables in inding solutions to wide-ranging problems
involving multiple disciplines.
- Identify subsurface uncertainties and develop mitigations/solutions by assessing
alternatives and related risk/reward.

- Due to the operational nature of the position the incumbent may be on site, or on call,
for extended periods. The incumbent will need the mental rigour to deal with
disruptions outside working hours and to make optimal operational decisions
regardless of the nature or timing of the disruption.
- Ensure that relevant environmental and safety standards are enacted for all projects
and activities under his/her authority, and produce high quality “ it-for-purpose"”
de iciency free work. Through the quality of the work, establish a high degree of trust
between the different disciplines of the team.

- Must be familiar with reserves evaluation, classi ication and booking (SPE PRMS or
SEC standards).
- BSc in Engineering (preferably Petroleum Engineering) or Applied Sciences.
- Desirable e Experience working on mature oil/gas ields.
- Desirable to have experience in reservoir luid sampling, luid property
modelling, routine and special core analysis.
- Desirable to have knowledge of assessment/management.

- Simulation — Eclipse 100/300
- Petrel RE
- Fluid property modelling — PVTi, PVTSim
- Material balance - MBAL
- Well test interpretation - Saphir
- Reservoir surveillance -OFM
