SIGMET INFORMATION.

Information issued by a meteorological surveillance office, regarding the


actual or expected existence of specified road weather phenomena, which may affect the safety of
aircraft operations.

LEVEL. Generic term referring to the vertical position of an aircraft in flight, which means either
height, altitude or flight level.

FLIGHT LEVEL Constant atmospheric pressure surface related to a certain pressure reference,
1,013.2 hectopascals (hPa), separated from other analogous surfaces by certain pressure ranges.

FLIGHT PLAN PRESENTED (FPL). Flight plan, as presented to the ATS unit by the pilot or his
designated representative, without any subsequent changes.

REPETITIVE FLIGHT PLAN (RPL). Flight plan related to each of the regular flights that are frequently
carried out with identical basic characteristics, presented by the Operators for the Air Traffic
Services (ATS) units to keep and use repeatedly.

GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION). Coordinate set (latitude and longitude) in relation to the mathematical
reference ellipsoid that defines the location of a point on the Earth's Surface

PRECISION. The smallest difference that can be distinguished with confidence through a
measurement process.

AERONAUTICAL MOBILE SATELLITE SERVICE . Mobile satellite service in which mobile earth stations
are located on board aircraft; also can be considered included in this service the Stations of boat or
rescue device and the Radio beacon stations for the location of claims.

RESERVED AERONAUTICAL MOBILE SERVICE (R). Aeronautical Mobile Service reserved for
aeronautical communications related to the safety and regularity of flights, mainly on national or
international civil aviation routes.

RESERVED AERONAUTICAL MOBILE SERVICE (R) SATELLITE. Aeronautical Mobile Satellite Service
reserved for communications related to the safety and regularity of flights, mainly on national or
international civil aviation routes.
AERONAUTICAL BROADCASTING SERVICE. Broadcasting service dedicated to the transmission of
information related to air navigation

AERONAUTICAL RADIONAVIGATION SERVICE. It is the one destined to the aircrafts and to their
exploitation in safety conditions. This service includes: Radiodetermination: determination of the
position, speed or other characteristics of an object, or obtaining information related to these
parameters through the propagation properties of radio waves and Radionavigation:
radiodetermination used for navigation purposes, including to indicate the presence of obstacles.
