As we begin our focus on the learner, let’s take a look at the learners you currently have in
class. If you are not currently teaching, work with a colleague to obtain the profile data. This
data will be the foundation you build upon for your learner-centered, projt-based topic. (Note:
you will type over the items in green; this is just a reminder of what is needed for each

We are living in a word which is progressing leaps and bounds. Innovations and modifications
are finding way in each and every field and Field of education is no exception. Among so many
useful innovative theories and approaches , one is learner centred approach. This approach
focuses on the learners , who is the main part of teaching learning process. To make his
teaching the learner centred it is very important for a teacher , to know his learners. The
teacher must know about his needs , aptitude and learning styles. The knowledge of learning
styles is very important to make teaching learning process a success. To be in line with his
learners’ learning style , a teacher should compile a learners’ profile. A learner profile can
outline and guide the learning process for the teacher. It will help him out to devise activities ,
methods and strategics , which can suit the needs and learning preference of his learners. A
learning profile can also help a teacher to make the best out of his learners’ capacity and
competence. It will enable him to achieve the desired learning objectives. Keeping these points
in view ,it is very important for a teacher to create a learners’ profile to make teaching and
learning process a success.
