Lab#5

Given values:

Source = 10V

Resistor, R1 = 10

Resistor, R2 = 20

Resistor, R3 = 30

To Find:

I have to find current and voltage across R3 by shorting R3

Answer:

In series current is same at every point. So current will be same at every point and by shorting R3 no
current will be flow from R3

By shorting R3 the current across circuit is I = 0.33A

Voltage at short circuit (R3) is equal to 0 because short circuit ha 0 resistance. So no voltage drop at R3
Lab Task:
I perform following jobs.

Job#1

I shorted R2 and R3 after shorting I repeat above method for finding voltage and current across short
circuit. I get following values

By shorting R2 and R3 the current across circuit is I = 1A

Job#2 (Observation)

Voltage drop across R1=10V

I observe from this experiment is that number of resistor decreases value of current increases in circuit.

By shorting R3 the current in whole circuit will be I = 0.33A

Voltage drop across resistor R1 increases.
