Lab#8

Given values:

Source, V1= 10V

Source, V2=5V

Resistor, R1 = 470

Resistor, R2 = 220

Resistor, R3 = 820

To Find:

I have to find branch current and voltage drop across each resistor in a circuit by using KVL and verify
my numerical values using EWB.

Answer:

Solving circuit problem by hand, I get following loop current values and then I find branch current.

Current in V1 loop, I1 = 0.0138

Current in V2 loop, I2 = -0.00186 (minus sign shows direction of current)

Current in each branch:

Current flowing through R1= I 1= 0.0138A

Current flowing through R2= (I1-I2) = 0.01566A

Current flowing through R3= I2 = -0.00186A (minus sign shows direction of current)

Voltage drop across each resistor:

Voltage drop across R1= 6.484V

Voltage drop across R2 = 3.44V

Voltage drop across R3 = 1.52V

Note:

I verify my values in EWB and my values matched with EWB values.

Lab Task:.
Job#1

I change the values of source and resistors of circuit.

Source, V1= 12V Source, V2=7V

Resistor, R1 = 15 Resistor, R2 = 12

Resistor, R3 = 7

Loop current of V1 = 0.390A

Loop current of V2 = -0.121A (minus sign shows direction of current)

Current in each branch:

Current flowing through R1= I 1= 0.390

Current flowing through R2= (I1-I2) = 0.511A

Current flowing through R3= I2 = -0.121A

Voltage drop across each resistor:

Voltage drop across R1= 5.854V

Voltage drop across R2 = 6.146V

Voltage drop across R3 = 0.853V
