Lab#2

Given values:

Source = 10V

Resistor, R1 = 5

Resistor, R2 = 5

Resistor, R3 = 10

To Find:

I have to find voltage drop in parallel circuit by using KCL and then verify my result using Multisim.

Answer:

Solving circuit problem by hand. I get following results

Node voltage “Va” = 4V

I1 = 1.2 A

I2 = -0.8 A

I3 = -0.4 A

Voltage drop at R1 = 6V

Voltage drop at R2 = 4V

Voltage drop at R3 = 4V

Note:

I verify my values in multisim and my values matched with multisim values.

Lab Task:
I perform following jobs.

Job#1

I change the values of source and resistors of circuit.

Source, V = 20V

Resistor, R1 = 2

Resistor, R2 = 2

Resistor, R3 = 2

By solving circuit with the help of

multisim I get following values of voltage
drop.

Voltage drop at R1 = 13.333V

Voltage drop at R2 = 6.667V

Voltage drop at R3 = 6.667V

Job#2 (Observation)

I observe that by using same value of resistor voltage drop at R1 = R2+R3.

Job#3

When I change the values of R1=R2=R3=3.

Yes, I get the same values of voltage drop at each resistor.
