MINI RICE HARVESTING MACHINE

SYNOPSIS

The Small rice combine harvester is mainly used for harvesting rice grain and

wheat grain. It is special suit for hills and mountains or areas where general combined

harvesters cannot enter in, very convenience for the farming. the name derives from its

combining three separate operations comprising harvesting reaping, threshing, and

winnowing into a single process. Among the crops harvested with a combine are wheat,

oats, rye, barley, corn (maize), soybeans and flax (linseed). The waste straw left behind

on the field is the remaining dried stems and leaves of the crop with limited nutrients

which is either chopped and spread on the field or baled for feed and bedding for

livestock. Harvesters are one of the most economically important labour saving

inventions, enabling a small fraction of the population to be engaged in agriculture

INTRODUCTION

The power of combine harvester is usually 9-107 kW, so the machine model

should be matched with the field area. If the field is flat and vast, the large combine type

is good choice, on the contrary, a small one is better. According to feeding way, rice

combine harvester can be divided into half-feeding combine harvester and whole-feeding

combine harvester. The nature difference is in different handling way of rice straw. For

half-feeding rice harvester, only the rice ears are involved in the threshing device, the

filed stubble is low to 6-10 cm. While this type of combine harvester is of complicated
threshing and conveying design, so it is expensive and subject to fault. The whole-feeding

combine harvester involves both rice ears and straw into threshing device, after the straw

are crushed, they will be discharged in the land field. Whole feeding paddy harvesting

equipment is of relatively low price and good performance. There are mainly two types of

forward device for rice harvester, wheel type and rubber belt type. The wheel type is

flexible and energy-saving while as the wheel has small contacting area with land, so it

makes much pressure and do damage to soil. So you can choose the wheel type harvester

when the land is small and of sandy soil. For rubber belt type harvester, it puts low

pressure to land field and suitable for large wet paddy field with clayed soil. Combine

harvesting machinery integrates cutting, threshing and cleaning process with high

automatic degree. While for some restricted reasons, some areas are habituated to reaping

paddy first for dying and then thresh independently. For this way, we recommend rice

reaper.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The above mentioned prats are used for various purposes in this model to operate

it.a handle provided in the model is used actuate the whole model.a fan is attached with

the handle with the help of gear arrangemnet and a belt arrangement as shown in the

figure.in other end of the handle a gear is attached.another gear is engaged with that gear

which leads to to the belt drive. a pulley is attached to the rear side of the fan.this pulley

is connected with the drive by means of belt as shown in the diagram.when the handle is

rotated the gear arrangment is actuated and the belt arrangement also starts to rotate.this
process leads to the rotation of the fan.another bar is attached to the handle which leads to

the cam arrangement.this cam arrangement is used to for the to and fro motion.a slider

with separator arrangement is used to separate the seeds.this slider is fixed in front of the

cam.when the handle is rotated the cam moves front and back.when the cam moves front

it hits the slider which leads to forward motion of the slider.when the cam moves back the

slider comes back to its old position.due to this motion the slider moves front and

back.when this operation is continiued, the seeds in the slider will be separated from the

shells. The dust from the seeds can be cleaned by the fan we used in this project.the speed

of the slider movement and the fan depends upon the speed of the rotation of the

handle.the speed of the fan is increased by the gear arrangement from the handle.
