Scouting is a value laden activity which is important part of student’s life.

It builds
a character that is useful to the community and the society. It imparts learning and teaches
skills that are useful in our daily lives.

Since scouting is integrated as part of school activities, on October 18-20, 2019,

The Paquibato District GSP team held a District Wide Camp with a theme “Free Being
Me.” It was a three-day camping activity participated by different scouters.

Alfredo A. Aledia Elem. School is one of the twenty-six schools participated in the
scouting movement. We had 27 delegates from Grades 4 -6 who were actively joined the
said activity.
The standing of tents and the building of camp happened a day before the activity.
On the first day at 3:00pm, the program started with a prayer, parade of colors and the
recitation of the Scout’s Oath and Law. Ma’am Nena P. Laurente gave her
inspiring message and officially opened the encampment activity.

Davao City GSP Council visited and witnessed the opening of encampment
activity. They were impressed and amazed about the number of girls from high lands who
were participated in the scouting.

The scouters took a break for a while as they enjoyed their dinner. Then, they
headed back to the stage for socialization.
Everyone prepared on the next day for their outdoor cooking which is egg
barbeque and Picadillo. They girls were really enjoyed because this is the first time that
they put the egg on stick without breaking the egg.

The Aledians participated in Pasiklaban wherein they got 2nd Place, 3rd place in
Camp Fire Presentation and 1st place in Outdoor cooking.

On the last day of the encampment, the awarding ceremony and closing program
took place with giving prizes and certficates to the winners. It was a meaningful
experience for everyone who participated in the activity. Truly, it embodied the theme
“Free being me.”
