Lesson Plan in Grade 10 Science

Date: MONDAY
November 5, 2018
I. OBJECTIVES 1. identify the parts and divisions of the human nervous system;
2. describe the function of each parts and divisions of the human nervous system; and
3. realize the importance of a healthy nervous system.

A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of:

1. organisms as having feedback mechanisms, which are coordinated by the nervous and endocrine systems
2. how these feedback mechanisms help the organism maintain homeostasis to reproduce and survive
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to:
1. create a campaign advertising video about the common and effective contraceptive measures used in family
planning, in line with the Reproductive Health Law

C. Learning Competencies/ 1. describe how the nervous system coordinates and regulates these feedback mechanisms to maintain homeostasis;
Objectives (S10LT-IIIc36)

II. CONTENT Coordinated Functions of the Reproductive, Endocrine, and Nervous Systems: Parts and Function of Nervous
System

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide Pages pp. 166-168
2. Learner’s Material Pages pp. 226-231
B. Other Learning Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Review of the previous Preliminaries:
lesson - Classroom Conditioning (arrange the chairs and pick up pieces of papers)
- Start the session with a prayer
- Establish classroom rules (Orient them before the session starts)

Show pictures. (ODD ORGAN OUT) – 5 minutes

Direction: Students will study each set of diagrams showing different organs of the human body. Then, they will determine
which organ does not belong to the group and explanation why the organ should not be included in the group. (ENGLISH)

B. Establishing the purpose of GRAPHIC ORGANIZER: BREAK IT DOWN-15 minutes

the lesson Each group will be given a graphic organizer. They are going to fill in the missing parts to complete the entire
concept showing the structure of the nervous system. One representative per group will present their output with functions
of each part/division. Good luck students, I know you can do it.
Template is indicated below.
C. Presenting the new lesson Each group will fill in the graphic organizer the missing parts of the human nervous system. One representative per group
will present their output with functions of each part/division. A rubric will be used to evaluate group’s performance.
(COLLABORATIVE) – 15 minutes

D. Discussion Concept Check

E. Discussing New Concepts The teacher will present the general function of the human nervous system. Students’ responses will be affirmed and
misconceptions will be corrected. (LECTURE)- 8 minutes

F. Application What might happen to the human body if one part of the nervous system fails to carry out its function properly? (State 2
scenario) (ENGLISH) (COLLABORATIVE) - 10 minutes

G. Generalization and How we take good care of our nervous system? (Values Ed.) (2 minutes)
Abstraction
H. Evaluating Learning TRUE OR FALSE: In a 1/4 sheet of paper. Draw if the statement is correct. Write FALSE if the statement is incorrect.
(5 minutes)
1. The peripheral nervous system is the main processing center of the entire nervous system. - FALSE
2. Spinal cord serves as a channel for impulses between the brain and the rest of the body. -
3. Somatic nervous system is associated with the involuntary control of body movement. - FALSE
4. Nervous system controls and coordinates the function of all organs. -
5. Consumption of balanced diet is one way to prevent he deterioration of the nervous system. -
Students performed well in the activity and class discussion.
V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION

A. No of learners who earned 95% of the learners were able to achieve the objectives.
80% on the evaluation

B. No. of learners who require

additional activities for
remediation who scored below 5% of the learners required additional activities
80%.

C. Did the remedial lessons work?

No. of learners who have caught
up with the lesson. No remedial lesson has been conducted.

D. No. of learners who continue to

require remediation.
None/zero

E. Which of the teaching

strategies worked well? Why did
these work? Collaborative discussion because it allows students to share ideas and interaction is optimized.

F. What difficulties did I

encounter which my principal or
supervisor can help me solve? None

G. What innovative or localized

materials did I use/ discover
which I wish to share with other Materials required in the activity were utilized.
