TEACHERS’ PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

We at ORCHIDS The International School believe in uplifting all teachers to a


higher level so they all have similar skills and knowledge. The aim of this training
program is to improve the performance of weak teachers by providing them
classroom training, frequent feedbacks, special attention and guidance. We
identified three major area of concern of these teachers viz. Classroom
management (CRM), Lesson Delivery (LD) and Content Knowledge (CK). Following
is the action plan devised:

(I) Action Plan- Teachers who have issues in Classroom


Management
The respective Coordinators will confirm if weak
teachers underwent below CRM modules training:
Organisational Skills
Setting Routines
Attention Signal & Energizer
Step I Training modules Warm up to get them together,
Movements- Skimming and Scanning- Eye Contact
Plans for distraction- Behavior think sheet,
Champs Transition
Champs for Activities
Behaviour Modification
If training was not conducted then 15 days time
Step II CRM Training by Coordinators period will be given to coordinators to complete
above training topics

Date: 14th Oct to 8th Nov
ne
Coordinators will observe at least 3 classes of one
weak teacher.
After each observation coordinators will discuss
the feedback with observed teacher and the
feedback needs to be recorded in feedback form
Step III 1st observation
with follow up action plan.
Both the coordinator and teacher will sign on the
same.
Coordinators will also submit scores of these
teachers in Evaluation sheet(Google form).
Observation: 11th Nov to 19th Nov

If the teacher has still not improved then the coordinators will conduct 2nd observation(
Note: Repeat step III)
If there is no improvement from Observation I to observation II then strict action will be taken
against the teacher.

(II) Action Plan- Teachers who have issues in Lesson Delivery

Step I Training modules: Design of training modules is in process(Shilpi Ma'am)


Coordinators have to complete above training module
Step II LD Training by Coordinators within 15 days time.

Before commencement of the class the coordinator will
have curriculum workshop for every weak teacher.

STEP1: For first 5 days each topic has to be explained


and modeled by coordinator.
STEP2: After which the teacher will make the lesson
plan themselves and Coordinators will have to observe
at least 2 classes and give feedback.
Coordinators Role STEP3: After each observation coordinators will discuss
the feedback with observed teacher and the feedback
needs to be recorded in feedback form with follow up
action plan. Both the coordinator and teacher will sign
on the same.
STEP 4: Coordinators will also submit scores and
remarks of these teachers in Evaluation sheet (Google
form).

Observation: 6th Nov to 15th Nov

(III) Action Plan- Teachers who have issues with content knowledge

The list of teachers who are facing issues with content knowledge will be shared
with respective Subject heads and planners. They will focus on improving the
subject content of these teachers.
