1. SBI YONO
It is an accepted fact that technology drives business today. It is a very
convenient anytime, anywhere, any mode banking for customers. They are
able to save time and cost by using technology for their banking transactions.
Similarly Bank is also able to reap large benefits due to technology use by
customers. Besides reduction in operation cost, the footfall of the customers at
branches is reduced which enables better crowd management; also significant
time is saved to attend to business development. Hence banks are introducing
many technology initiatives to woo their customers. State Bank of India also
has been consciously taking steps to introduce many technology initiatives
which will delight the customers. Starting from ATM, INB, MB, CDM, Recycler,
SWAYAM, POS/ GCC etc. State Bank Opened sbi INTOUCH branches to provide
banking service to highly tech savvy customers. These branches will offer
completely different experience through online self-service. These branches
will focus on opening of Savings Bank accounts along with sourcing of retail
loan products, like Auto, Home and Education loans. After these developments
the Bank ventured into digital initiatives like SBI Quick, SBI No Queue, SBI
Mingle, SBI Digivoucher, SBI BHIM, SBI FASTag etc. to improve customer
service further. The latest product in this direction by SBI is ‘YONO’ YONO is an
acronym for “You Only Need One” It is India’s first omni channel digital
platform to meet various banking requirements of the customers as also their
life style requirements. It is available on Web, Tab and Mobiles. This initiative
has leveraged predictive analytics and state of the art technological innovation
to provide a unique customer experience. With a view to reducing transaction
time without compromising risk and compliance factors, the processes relating
to financial and nonfinancial transactions of the customers have been
reworked by the Bank. This has also made employee experience more intuitive
and smart resulting in enhanced customer service and giving boost to staff
efficiency. The mobile version of YONO is available on Android and I Phones.
There are three important modules in YONO. They are:
i) Digital Banking: It provides critical digital banking functions such as Digital
Account Opening, fund transfer, Relationship overview, i.e., One View of SBI
account and Group Companies, Portfolio, Spend Analyser, Bill Payments, Fixed
Deposits, Pre-approved loans etc.
ii) Financial Super Store: This will facilitate making available non-financial
Demand is the real accelerator of the economy. If demand increases then the
producer has to increase the production which can not be increased without
hiring the more labour force.
Increment in the employment opportunities leads to further demand of the
other products in the economy. Since last few months Indian economy is facing
the problem of lower demand which ultimately trapped the whole economy.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a very boosting step (government is getting
approximately Rs. 1 lac crore per month as tax collection ) for the Indian
economy but its implementation is not much smooth. The traders are facing
problems in getting the GST returns and their huge money is trapped in the
hands of government which is affecting their business due to limited
availability of resources.
4. Decline in investment:
There is a 79.5% drop in the value of new projects announced during April to
June 2019. This is the highest decline since September 2004. The value of
declared investments in the same quarter is Rs 71,337 crore, which is also the
lowest since September 2004. This is a big indication that industries are not yet
confident in India's economic future.
As we know that Indian banking sector is passing through a very rough time
since a long time. Total NPA of the Indian banks is around Rs 7.9 lac crore
which is blocking the way of new loan to the other borrowers. The recent
announcement of the mergers of the banks may further create the
atmosphere of anarchy in the mind of the investors and depositors.
6. Agricultural crisis:
Indian agriculture has been a key contributor to India’s growth story and
continues to be one of biggest employers. It contributes around 15% in the
Indian GDP and employs around 55% population of the country. But this sector
is also passing through very rough time. Farmers are not getting adequate
price for their crops that is why farmers are committing suicide throughout the
country.
