INTRODUCTION

Traffic volume is defined as the number of vehicles crossing a section of road per
unit time at any selected period. Traffic volume studies are conducted to collect
data on the number of vehicles andior pedestrians that pass a point on a highway
facility during a specified time period. Traffic congestion usually occur at am peak
and pm peak where such congestion was due to the road user going to and
coming home from work, school, institution or any other places. At this point,
everyone flocked to get to their destinations and causing road congestion. Traffic
congestion does not only affect the situation on the roads but also affects the
emotions of road users while in traffic jam.

OBJECTIVE

 To determine traffic data (vehicle composition) of assessment of the

existing site traffic condition

 To observe the traffic flow trend and movement pattern

 To determine peak hour factor(if survey is done during the peak hour)
SCOPE OF RESEARCH

During 27th September 2019 at 8.00am, we had gathered at the roundabout near
Cmart and Taman Seri Aman. Puan Salma, our lecturer had give us the
instruction on how the survey is done. We had given the task to conduct a survey
around the roundabout which consist POLIMAS to Jitra , POLIMAS to Taman Sri
Aman, Taman Sri Aman to POLIMAS , Taman Sri Aman to Jitra , Jitra to
POLIMAS and lastly Jitra to Taman Sri Aman . This road is choosen because it
has a lot of vehicle passing by during peak hours. Thus, this will make our survey
and our result become more accurate.
