Position Paper in Philippine History

From now the debates between the currently national hero Jose Rizal and Andres
Bonifacio are continues about who is the most qualified hero that would represents the
Philippines country. Based on the historian, the American people who invaded us is the one who
are chose Jose Rizal as national hero compared to Andres Bonifacio who do not complied a
standard education back ground. In this statement, it concludes that Philippines were not yet been
free from the invasion of America, although they give independence during June 12, 1898 in
Kawit Cavite. The day was declared a national holiday. Thousands of people from the provinces
gathered in Kawit to witness the historic event. They still invaded the rights of the Filipino to
choose the right hero for the Philippines based on their ideals of courage and contribution and
not only the flowery educational background and achievements of the hero. Bonifacio known
that he doesn’t have an educational attainment but in historical analysis after the death of his
mother Catalina De Castro and after the following year his father died also Santiago Bonifacio.
He studied himself at home also he and truly an intelligent man however he don’t have a diploma
unlike Rizal whose a brilliant student who became proficient in multiple languages, José Rizal
studied medicine in Manila. In 1882, he traveled to Spain to complete his medical degree. In this
statement that the qualification of national hero why Jose Rizal is elected as national hero
because of the high achievement of Jose Rizal in his career.

One of the reasons why Rizal is chose is not only in his education attainment but also the
way that he encountered his end when he was fired in Luneta at the 30th day of December which
is the death anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal. The Filipino commemorates this scene in Philippine
history because before the Spanish leader said the word “Fuego” is a Spanish word means in
English fire; Rizal face his death by facing his body in the multiple gunshot to his body. That
contributed to his background as national means that he was not scared to fight the freedom of
our country to the next generation. Unlike Bonifacio, who executed by the Filipino people led by
President Emillio Aguinaldo on March 22, 1948 (the day before his birthday), Aguinaldo
released a letter saying he was indeed the one who ordered the execution of Bonifacio and his
brother Procopio (the letter was certified authentic by Teodoro Agoncillo and published in his
book ‘Revolt of the Masses’). This statement means that, when the other country ask us on when
and how did your national hero died we can proudly say that Rizal was faced his death but
courage by facing the death with courage rather than Bonifacio who are are murder by his the
hand of his commander rather than the hand of the oppressor. That is why one of the reason that
Rizal have advantage as a national hero compared to Andres Bonifacio and why Filipino choose
the hero whore killed in his commander. Bonifacio’s life was all suffering, pain, anguish and
ignominy. He was an orphan and a peasant who had to work hard to feed his many brothers and
sisters with manual labor. Despite the rumors surrounding the Leader of the Katipuneros, we
cannot deny the fact that Bonifacio was one of the inspirations of the Filipinos to take arms and
fight against the oppressors. He started the revolution, and as such he was considered as the
"Father of Revolution". Some believed that Andres did nothing but promote bloodshed and used
brawn over brain and resorted to violence. We know that this was inevitable; at some point the
Filipino will tire and stand up. If we really want these oppressors to leave us alone, we do so by
force, because after all that was how they treated us in the first place; through force. Using
diplomacy won't always win us a war.
