The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Once upon a time, there was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside
watching the village sheep. As usual, he sang a song of ‘You are my Sunshine’.”.....You are my
sunshine... My only sunshine... You make me happy, when skies are gray... You’ll never know,
dear... How much I love you... Please don’t take my sunshine away.....”. After he sang, he
grumbled because he still boring. “Why is it still so boring? hmm.. I think I must do something...
Umm..... Ya! I have a good idea! This is just a joke but it seems interesting.”

To amuse himself, he took a deep breath and screamed, ”Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is
chasing the sheep! ”The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away.
But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. ”Hahaha, it’s so fun!” The boy
laughed at the sight of their angry faces. ”Don’t screamed ‘wolf’, shepherd boy, when there’s no
wolf!” The villagers grumbling back down the hill.” I think this trick hasn’t satisfied me, Yeah! I
must repeat again! This is very fun! Hahahaha! ”said the shepherd boy. Later, the shepherd boy
screamed again, ”Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep! Help Me!” To his naughty delight,
he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf, the boy laught “Hahaha there’s no wolf in here, i’m
kidding”. With angry face the villagers said ”Save your frightened sound for when there is really
something wrong! Don’t screamed ‘wolf’ when there is no wolf! Don’t be liar, shepherd boy!”
But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more. Later, he saw
a REAL Wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and screamed as loudly as
he could, ”Wolf! Wolf! Help me! Please! The wolf chasing the sheep!.” But the villagers thought
he was trying to fool them again so they didn’t come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy had not returned to the village with
their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.”There really was a
wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out ‘wolf’ Why didn’t you come?”. An old man tried
to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.

THE END.

The moral of the story is: When you’re honest, people trust you. To be a person of
integrity, is to be a person who people care about and who want to help. But if you continually
lie, for attention, being sadistic, or whatever reason, people will eventually catch on and will
believe nothing that you say, even when you’re legitimately telling the truth. If you need help,
ask honestly. When dealing with other people, treat them with honest respect. Doing anything
other will make them lose respect for you and damage your credibility, possibly when you
actually need it the most.
