Configure HT8 within the factory network and activate the MCP functionality
Valid for: SINUMERK powerline NCK Version 6.5 (or later)
In order to commission the HT8 and achieve full functionality, we recommend that you use the current
XP-Base 08.06.xx and HMI Adv. 07.05.xx or 07.06.xx.
Set the addresses for the HT8 with S2 in the connection module
(with Powerline <= 15 !!) Notice: Switch HEX coded. S2 = 1 … FH
Using the preset address, the HT8 logs in at the system (DIP1 …. DIP15); may not be changed.
Under this address, the HT8 in the PLC (OB100/FB1) is also addresssed.
Connect the HT8 to the connection module and connect the module to Eth2 of the PCU50.3.
Power ON if the base version is displayed at the bottom right on the PCU50, press the numeric
key “3“ to stop the runup and change to the Windows mode.
The following configuration screen is displayed on the HT8:
HT8 Individual Mode No
Operator panel index e.g. 14
Machine control panel….MCP e.g. 14
Electronic key system 0
Enable direct keys No
Virtual Keyboard
Confirm with OK. HT8 reboots and displays the Windows screen.
Calibrate Touch Panel, press “Recall“ and “Menu Select“ keys, select Service this panel,
Calibrate touchscreen.
Reboot
A driver is required on the PCU to transfer the MCP signals via Ethernet to the PLC.
For this, start under "Start"
"Programs"
"SINUMERIK 840D"
"Tools"
"HT8TCU" and set the button to "Enabled".
[StartupConfiguration]
Startup36 = name := StartPrg, Timeout :=20000.
Up to HMI Version 07.05.xx, the HT8 must be configured as the first MCP.
As from Version 07.06.01.00, you can also configure the second MCP.
You can read out via the index in the DB19.DBB118 whether PCU50 or HT8 is active.
The active MCP address is stated in the DB19.DBB123.
Please note: The signals are only transferred to the PLC when the HMI Adv. is running!!
If the signals are not transferred, please check via the Task Manager whether the mcp_rout.exe and
mcpdrv.exe are running.
Mcpdrv uses the port 6000, please observe this with additional OEM software.
There are different possibilities to configure the HT8-MCP and MCP in the OB100.
If only one HT8 is provided in the system, configure it like a “normal“ MCP.
Call up in the user program via the FC26.
Fix HT8-MCP and MCP, 2 MCPs and configure as first or second MCP according to the software
version used. Address either FC19 or FC26 via the feedback in the DB19.DBB118 resp.
DB19.DBB123.
You can configure only one MCP in the OB100 and have the switchover done by the FB9 in the
PLC, see DoconCD extended functions: Several operator panels on several NCUs, distributed
systems (B3). Also in this case, decide on the basis of the feedback which block shall be
addressed. B3 provides an example for assigning the override.
The LED image of the HT8 is used as interface for displaying the labeling by the PLC.
The PLC sets a bit in the LED image of the HT8 in order to display / suppress the traversing keys.
Signal AB n+6 Bit 7 = 1 for display
Signal AB n+6 Bit 7 = 0 for suppression
The HMI reports to the PLC via bit 7 in byte 72 of the data block 10 whether the traversing keys are
displayed or suppressed:
Displayed: DB10.DBX72.7 = 1
Suppressed: DB10.DBX72.7 = 0
