NUVALI T.R.E.E. PROGRAM
Together Reforesting the Earth’s Environment
Thru ASSISTED NATURAL REGENERATION
As Part of Ayala Land Inc.’s Carbon Neutrality Initiatives, NUVALI has dedicated a total of
approximately 119 hectares of land that will serve as carbon forests.
This year, NUVALI has incorporated Assisted Natural Regeneration to improve its existing tree
planting program. NUVALI welcomes individuals, groups and companies to volunteer and hold
its tree-planting activities and participate in our reinforced T.R.E.E Program.
ANR is a method for enhancing the establishment of secondary forest from degraded grassland
and shrub vegetation by protecting and nurturing the mother trees and their wildlings
inherently present in the area. Aims to accelerate, rather than replace, natural successional
processes by removing or reducing barriers to natural forest regeneration such as soil
degradation, competition with weedy species, and recurring disturbances (e.g., fire, grazing, and
wood harvesting).
Activities under T.R.E.E. Program
will include the following:
• Selection and marking of wildlings
• Liberation of wildlings from competing
vegetation through:
• Transplanting
• Ring weeding
• Removal of vines
• Suppressing growth of vegetation
• Lodging
• Enrichment Planting

RECOMMENDED SAPLINGS
FRUIT-BEARING TREES FOREST TREES
• Target sites will be identified by NUVALI Team and may be inspected by the volunteers upon the managements’ approval.
• If the volunteers want to bring their own saplings, the minimum sapling height requirement shall be 5 ft. and should be
planted in at least 8 x 8 size planting bag. Tree species should be among the trees listed in the Nuvali T.R.E.E. Program.
• T.R.E.E. Program requires the participants to monitor the nurtured wildlings and planted seedlings quarterly.
• All saplings included in the selected package shall be strictly planted by the volunteers. Saplings that are not planted shall be
recovered by the management.
