Calculation of density of the gases/air through the fan

Where Aa is taken as 1.39 for kiln exhaust gases, 1.293 for clean gases and can be calculated if the
composition of the gas is known.

P is the atmospheric pressure in mmWG which depends on the altitude of the place.

Pa is the static pressure at the point of measurement

Ta is the temperature of the gases in degree centigrade.

2. Velocity of the gases (m/sec) going into the fan can be calculated by taking the differential pressure of
the duct by Pitot tube or S tube monometer.

Where C is the pitot tube constant, dp is the differential pressure measure in the duct in mmWG and A is
the density of the liquid in the monometer.

3. Total volume of the fan in m3/sec can be calculated as

Where Duct Area is calculated in m2

4. Fan Total pressure is calculated by addition of fan inlet pressure in mmWG and fan outlet pressure in
mmWG.

5. Fan air power is calculated as

Total Volume in m3/s ,Total pressure in mmWG and Airpower in Kw

6. Calculate motor O/P power Kw) by multiplying the Airpower(Kw) with Motor rated efficiency(%).

7. Calculate Slip of motor by taking the Motor rated and actual RPM

8. Calculate GRR loss of motor(Kw) by using the formula

9. Motor shaft power is calculated as

10. Fan efficiency is calculated as
