I agree on the current S&T agenda of the government since it is because they have
this agenda called Harmonized National R&D Agenda (HNRDA) 2017 - 2022 prepared
by DOST in which to ensure that the results of S&T endeavors are geared toward and
are utilized in areas of maximum economic and social benefit for the people. I believe on
this agenda because they categorized each programs and areas particularly to make sure
that the people where to follow and also each of these programs explained it well on what
are its purposes that is why it would really effectively to the people economically and also
in our country.

So the one policy that I chose under the Harmonized National R&D Agenda
(HNRDA) aligned with Ambisyon Natin 2040 and its three pillars is that National
Integrated Basic Research Agenda (NIBRA) because it is possibly could give an impact
to Nation-Building since it is because NIBRA is too broad in which all off e divisions and
other programs are connected to it and has six major programs or issues such as Water
Security, Food & Nutrition Security, Health Sufficiency, and etc. If I am going to assess or
evaluate these issues of NIBRA will work together. Lets say for example, if there is no
ALERT program (Alternative Energy Research) related to one of the issues of NIBRA
called Clean Energy, for me, the SAPAT program (Saganang Pagkain Para sa Lahat) &
LIKAS program (Likas Yaman sa Kalusugan) related to Food & Nutrition Security and
Health Sufficiency would greatly affected for me because if the people are not discipline
of cleaning, of course, this could affected our health and food that could possibly cause
diseases, so if these programs or issues of NIBRA would work together, I am really sure
that it gives a big contribution to Nation-Building.

Yes, I do agree with the current S&T policies and agendas of the government here
in the Philippines because it does improve the livelihood of Filipino people most especially
for the lives of our marginalized sectors in the society who necessarily requires more
efficient agriculture. It does also help in the advancement in health and medicine
development in our country, enterprises that deal with creativity such as designs, and
climate change refinement. Science and technology have played a big role in our country
by helping our society cope up with the demands of the people. Change is part of our
survival and as time falls rapidly, we also need to adapt change such as developments in
our technology to produce people’s needs.

I think all policies are relevant for the nation building but if I had to choose only
one, I choose the Health policy that falls under the R&D Priority Areas and Programs of
HNRDA. I believe that health is a priority which we do not usually given that much of an
attention especially here in our country wherein we can see our lack of our health care
facilities and even establishments for the patients particularly for the less fortunate. By
the use of science & technology for development of our health industries, we may be able
to build a healthy nation by promoting healthful drugs and we can also be able to identify
new inventions of illness through science and technology.
