1.0 BACKGROUND

1.1 The Regional Mock Board Examination is a yearly event of the National
Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants Region 11 which aims to
uphold academic competencies to a higher degree and prepare the examinees
for their actual CPA Board Examination. It is an event for which different
aspirants from different regions are gathered for 2 days to test their knowledge
and skills in answering 6 Board Exam subjects namely Financial Accounting and
Reporting, Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting, Management
Accounting and Control, Auditing, Taxation and Regulatory Framework for
Business Transactions. The Mock Board Examination is in line of the
accomplishment of the first goal of the Federation, which is to promote academic
excellence.

2.0 OBJECTIVES

2.1 To help students test their knowledge and wit in answering the different
Board Exam Subjects;

2.2 To prepare the students in the actual CPA Board Examination;

2.3 To increase the level of participation of the local chapters with their
involvement in NFJPIA-RXI activities; and,

2.4 To promote excellence and produce topnotch students that will represent

the organization in the actual CPA Board Examination.


3.0 QUALIFICATIONS

3.1 The Regional Mock Board Examination is an event to be conducted by


NFJPIA-RXI, in cooperation with its partner institutions and all the local chapters,
open for application to all Accountancy Students.

3.2 The examinee must be at least in his/her penultimate year of tertiary


education, i.e. 3rd year for a 4-year course and 4th year for a 5-year course.

4.0 REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

4.1 The registration period starts September 6, 2019 and will end on
September 20, 2019. Only pre-registered examinees are allowed to take the
examination.

4.2 No walk-ins will be allowed to take the 2019 Regional Mock Board
Examination.

4.3 LOCAL CHAPTER (LC) REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

4.3.1 Each examinee, must pre-register with his/her Local Chapter. The Local
Chapter President must fill-out the master list (softcopy) provided by NFJPIA-
RXI (all fields must be filled out. Incomplete information would not be
considered). This will serve as the final list to be submitted to the corporate mail
of the Regional Council Vice President for Academics
(nfjpiareg11fy1920vpacademics@gmail.com). The softcopy of preregistration
information and the collection of examination fee by the Local Chapter must be
sent to the corporate mail of the Regional Council Vice President for Finance
(nfjpiareg11fy1920vpfinance@gmail.com) for consolidation purposes on or
before September 20, 2019.

4.3.2 The examinee’s school ID must be presented at the start of every


examination day, and is to be checked by the attending proctor.

4.3.3 All local chapters should strictly follow the given deadline as to the
pre-registration to sufficiently supply the number of materials needed for
the examinees.

4.4 REGISTRATION FEE SCHEME

100.00.

5.0 TIME FRAME AND SCHEDULE

5.1 The Regional Mock Board Examination shall be held on September 28-29,
2019.

5.2 Each hub shall STRICTLY follow the following matrix as the time frame in
conducting its examination:
Day 1

7:00 AM -8:00 AM General Instructions/Filing up of Forms

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM Exam 1: Advanced Financial Accounting & Reporting

10:15 AM - 12:15 PM Exam 2: Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions

12:15 PM – 1:00 PM Lunch Break

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Exam 3: Financial Accounting & Reporting

3:15 PM – 5:15 PM Exam 4: Management Accounting and Control

Day 2

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM Exam 5: Taxation

10:15 AM - 12:15 PM Exam 6: Auditing

6.0 GENERAL EXAMINATION GUIDELINES

6.1 Examinees are expected to be at the venue at least 1 hour before the official
starting time. This is for the confirmation of their registration and inspection of
calculators

6.2 Examinees who failed to be at the venue once the exam starts are
considered late. Late comers are not allowed to take the examination of the
subject he failed to attend on time with.
6.3 Examinees must strictly wear White Plain Polo Shirt (with collar).
Noncompliance of the proper attire are not allowed to take the
examination.

6.4 Examinees should observe proper behavior during examination proper.


Talking, and/or asking to seatmates are strictly prohibited. Any
questions/clarifications must be addressed directly to the proctor.

6.5 Any examinee caught cheating will be disqualified in taking the entire mock
board examination.

6.6 Examinees are allowed to leave the room every after each board subject,
provided that they are done with the exam. Once left the room, they are not
allowed to go inside unless all other examinees are done.

6.7 Examinees are not allowed to eat inside the examination rooms. They will be
allowed to eat outside and return 15 minutes before the start of the next exam.

6.8 Only calculators allowed by Philippine Regulator Commission (non-


programmable calculators) are allowed to be used. Proctors are expected to
inspect the examinees’ calculators before the examination starts.

7.0 EXAMINATION SUMMARY

7.1 Below is the summary of the number of items and corresponding time
allotment for each of the CPA Board subjects.

8.0 AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

8.1 The following awards shall be given to the top performers during the

Regional Mock Board Exam 2019:

• Top 1-5 Examinees

• Master of Financial Accounting and Reporting

• Master of Advanced Accounting

• Master of Taxation

• Master of Auditing

• Master of Management Accounting and Control


• Master of Regulatory Framework for
Business Transactions

9.0 VIOLATIONS AND SANCTIONS GUIDELINES

9.1 The above-mentioned General Guidelines are for NFJPIA and related
persons information exchange only. The council maintains the relevance and
reliability of this document through the strict implementation of its rules and
regulations.

9.1 Any questions raised by the contestants that are not included in the
guidelines shall be subjected to the jurisdiction of the Regional Vice
President for Academics. The decision of the Regional Council Vice
President for Academics and will be final and evocable.

10.0 ENFORCEMENT OF THE GENERAL GUIDELINES

10.1 It shall be the primary duty of the Regional Council Vice President for
Academics and the Regional Council Executive Officers to effectively enforce
the provisions of this General Guidelines. The Executive Officers also have the
sole right to interpret the contents of this General Guidelines and their decision
will be binding and evocable.

10.2 The Regional Council Adviser or his duly designated representative shall
act as legal adviser to the Regional Council Executive Officers and shall be
render legal assistance as may be necessary in carrying out the provisions of
this General Guidelines.
11.0 AMENDMENTS OF REVISIONS

11.1 The Federation shall be vested with the exclusive power to revise and
amend the General Guidelines.

11.2 Any amendments to or revisions to this General Guidelines may be


proposed by any member of any regional council upon a written request of such
member, stating the reasons thereto.

11.3 Any request for amendments and revisions as well as proposed


amendments must initially be reviewed by the Regional Council Vice Presidents
for Academics then to be forwarded to the federation for discussion, editing and
final approval and to be noted by the Regional Council Adviser.

11.4 The federation shall have the right to debunk any proposed revisions and
amendments, submitted to them by the Regional Council Vice President for
Academics which are deemed unnecessary. The final decision on any inclusions
and exclusions to this General Guidelines must be determined by a majority vote
of the Executive Officers in which the Vice Presidents for Academics is included.

12.0 SEPARABILITY CLAUSE

12.1 If any clause, provision, paragraph or part of this General Guidelines be


declared unconstitutional or invalid, such judgment shall not affect, invalidate, or
impair any other part hereof, but shall be merely confined to the clause,
provision, paragraph or part directly involved in the controversy in which such
judgment has been rendered.
13.0 REPEALING CLAUSE

13.1 Any rule and regulation or resolution or part/s thereof inconsistent with the
provisions of this General Guidelines are hereby repealed or modified
accordingly.

14.0 EFFECTIVITY

14.1 This General Guidelines shall take effect immediately after its presentation
and approval from the Regional Executive Officers.
