The Cultural impact of Recorded Music

Phonograph transformed the way of listening to music from rare and live public performances to private
and repeated music. It also cheapened the listening experience and now a large variety of music is
available to music lovers irrespective their nationalities. Some people argue that the massive availability
of music would result in social uplift. Popular music kept growing in Europe and the United State, while
the Western European prefer good music. In the United State, recording companies and music crisis
initiated a reform movement in music by introducing numerous music courses and advertising good
music. Some historian claim that phonograph had lowered the quality and taste for music by introducing
it to a large population. Somehow, it worked as a bridge between the urban and rural culture. The record
of its sale showed that the popular music is still popular and still supported by recording companies.
