REACTION PAPER
On September 11, 2019 we went on a business exposure at
JAKA Equities Corporation, Magallanes, Agusan Del Norte. JAKA
Equities Corporation is the maker of fine quality matches. I was
excited because it was my first time to visit a plant. I've
learned a lot of things about matches and I was amazed too. When
we were being discussed by the production supervisor Sir Johnny
Baron, I didn't really expected that a simple looking match
sticks took a lot of process for it to be made. And that some of
the materials and machines used were from different countries.
When we entered the factory, I saw how all the machines worked,
I was amazed how todays’ generation is very high in technology.
The machines were very big and loud and it looks dangerous. The
machines were fast so they need to be really focused to keep up
and they did as what I've observed, there is a quality of work,
the employees itself is quality controlled. With regards to how
the employees work, I can see that they are committed in doing
their job, since they all work fast. I've noticed that no one is
talking to each other because they are focusing on their
assigned duties. In terms on how the company treats their
employees all I can say is they are really good at motivating
and taking good care of their employees. Like they have a check-
up every week for employees in case someone doesn't feel well
and they provide free medicines. They are complete when it comes
to safety first. Staffs also have team building and the company
provides complete insurance of the employees. Lastly, what i
really appreciated in JAKA Equities Corporation is that they
prioritize the interest of their employees. After all, if there
are no employees, there will be no transaction/work. It is rare
to find companies like JAKA. I remember what Sir Johnny said
that they were planning to close the company but the manager
disagree because he was thinking of the welfare of the
employees. What will happen to the employees if JAKA will shut
down. JAKA Equities Corporation also has a lot of contribution
in Magallanes like establishing a school, basketball court, etc.
JAKA is not only into profit but more on the welfare of their
employees and people.
