The objective of this method statement covers and describes the activities & procedure
for road construction.

2. SCOPE

The scope of this method statement covers the following activities.


 Site survey
 Clearing & Grubbing
 Placement & Compaction of Approved Material

5. RESPONSIBILITIES

 It is the overall responsibility of SM to organize resources to perform construction


activities as per project specification, in compliance with quality, schedule & safety
requirements.
 It is the responsibility of CM that construction activities are executed according to the
relevant project specification, in compliance with quality, schedule & safety requirements.
 The relevant SE and supervisor shall ensure that all the work, conducted in accordance
with this method statement and project specification.
 The QC Engineer shall ensure that all work is executed according to IFC Drawing &
Specification and check the quality of work; also the documents shall be prepared and
signed as per QIP protocol.
 Safety and construction supervision shall be carried out under responsibilities of client.

6. PROCEDURE

Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) specific to project requirements shall be made and inspection
activities shall be recorded either on the formats as given under “Related Documents” or those
supplied by customer. Inspection with protocol of (Witness) will be sign by OE/Client and
with protocol of (Reviews and Surveillance) will be sign by EPC.
The road will be constructed into two phases.

PHASE “I”

 Mark the centre line of Road and note down the NSL both sides of centre line.

 After clearing and grubbing if required, record the ground level.

 Cutting & Filling will be done, where required to maintain the slops.

 Treatment of road will be done by placing excavated material/Murrum to make the


road fit for purpose & will be maintained during construction period.

PHASE II
 Perform the quality tests of each material by the third party (Lab) and get its
approval by customer/consultants.
 After erection of WTG’s tower a layer of approved road material will be placed for
road as per drawing width & thickness.
 Compact the material with specified equipment up to required percentage of
compaction as given drawings & required test will be carried out.
 For documentation QIP for road work will be followed.

All survey tools which are required for inspection accordingly.

8. HSE INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 A competent civil person will supervise filling operation.
8.2 Workers will use Personal Protective Equipment.
8.3 All excavations shall be filled and consolidated and the surface shall be left in good
condition as soon as practicable.
8.4 The fall path area will be cleared of items, which may cause injury during falling.
8.5 To avoid fall of the persons, the area to be filled will be flagged off and lighted
barricades installed to inform others if the area is left open overnight.
8.6 Back mirror along the guider must be used if filling is done by dumper etc.
8.7 The area will be assured free of workers and/or tools etc. before filling.
8.8 No trash, shopping bags, papers, cans, bottles or any other litter should be left in the
open.
8.9 Preserve your natural environment.
