1. Novel- a very long story about imaginary characters and events.

2. Poem- a piece of writing that usually has figurative language and that is
written in separate lines that often have a repeated rhythm and sometimes
rhyme.
3. Drama- a dramatic literary work intended for performance by actors on a
stage.
4. Realism- a 19th century artistic movement in wich writers and painters
sought to show life as it is rather than life as it should be.
5. Modernism- a 20th century cultural movement embracing human
empowerment and rejecting traditionalism as outdated. Rationality, industry
and technology were cornerstones of progress and human achievement.
6. Industrial Revolution- a series of improvements in industrial technology that
transformed the process of manufacturing goods.
7. Feminism- the belief that woman should have economic, political and social
equality with men.
8. Personification- a figure of speech in wich an object or animal is given
human feelings, thoughts or attitudes.
9. Imagery- visually descriptive or figurative language in a literary work that
appeals to the senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, taste)
10.Metaphor- a figure of speech that makes an implicit, implied or hidden
comparison between two things that are unrelated, but wich share some
common characteristics.
