A SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN in MAPEH

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote
societal fitness
Performance Standards: The learners demonstrates maintains an active lifestyle to influence the physical
activity participation of the community and society practices healthy eating habits that support an active
lifestyle
Being Considerate- The ability to show kindness and think about the rights, preferences and
feelings of others.
Behavioral Indicators:

I OBJECTIVES:

A. Students are able to recognize the rights, preferences, and feelings of others
while performing the street and hip hop dance
B. Students are able to hand their support to others who cannot perform street and
hip-hop dance style.
C. Students are able to express the needs ,rights, preferences and feelings of others
while performing street and hip-hop dance.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


TOPIC: Street and Hip-Hop Dances
MATERIALS: projector, laptop, speaker

III. PROCEDURES:

a. Preliminary Activities
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of attendance

b. Motivation Activity
Strategy: (Dance it Out)
 The teacher will play an upbeat music.
 The students will show their own dance movements along with the played music.

c. Lesson Proper
 The teacher introduces the history of street dance and the hip-hop culture hip-hop
style.
 The teacher plays a video about hip-hop movements.
 After the video presentation, the students will imitate the movements that they
have learned.
 The teacher will ask a volunteer from the students to perform movements that
he/she have acquired.

IV. Activity Proper

 Divide the class into four (4) groups.


 Each group members will perform their creative sequence of hip-hop
movements.
 The teacher will present a criteria for them to be guided on their presentation.

CRITERIA POINTS
Creative Sequence 10 pts.
Cooperation 5 pts.
Mastery 5 pts.
Total 20 pts.

 The students are given 10 minutes to prepare and practice their movements.
 Another 3 minutes will be given to each group for output presentation.

a. Feedback Inquiry
Ask the students the following questions.

a. How was the experience in practicing hip-hop dance? What were the challenges in
practicing it? And how did you handle your feelings? What did you find most difficult
to do?
b. Given these difficulties, what aided your practice of hip-hop dance? What did you find
very encouraging? What do you think contributed to your success? Did being
considerate and respectful help?
c. What particular movements/ steps strike you? Show them.

a. How being considerate to others help your performance?
b. How about in your everyday life?

VI. CONCLUSION

SUMMARY/RECAP
Street dance refers to dance styles that have evolved outside of dance studios. It is performed in
streets, dance parties, parks school yards, or in any available space. It is often improvisational
and social in nature, encouraging interaction and contact with spectators and other dancers.
