I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students shall have

1. identified and defined the intrapersonal and interpersonal types of speech context;
2. differentiated intrapersonal and interpersonal types of speech context;
3. portrayed the various types of speech context learned through acting, speaking, and
drawing; and
4. appreciated the value of speech in various context.

 B. MOTIVATION

ACTIVITY: NAME THAT SONG

Do you want to have a game? May I group you into

three.
Students to be in their respective groups.

The name of our game is NAME THAT SONG. Please Assign one member of your group to be your ACTOR
look at the screen for the mechanics of the game. May PLAYER who is good at acting, your ILLUSTRATOR
I ask you to do leap reading as you read the PLAYER who is good at drawing, and your SINGER
mechanics. PLAYER who is good at singing and song lyrics.

The game consists of two rounds.

In the first round, the actor player will act out the
song title without mouthing and for 10 seconds, the
members will guess the song title for two points. In
the second round, the illustrator player will draw an
object that represents the missing word on the board
which will serve as a clue for their group members
to guess the song title for 15 seconds to get three
points. When the group guesses the song title
correctly, the SINGER PLAYER who is familiar with
the song lyrics and the tune of the song shall sing
the line where the title is mentioned for additional
two points in the first round, and three points in the
second round. If the song title could not be guessed
within the allotted time, the other groups will be
given the chance to steal. The group to clap their
hands first will be called to steal. The group that can
guess the title correctly will only be the one entitled
to sing the lyrics.

After the game: Students will classify the song titles.
Now class I have here metacards where the song
titles you’ve guessed are written. What I want you to
do is to classify them into two. You put them under
the Column WITHIN if you think the thought
focuses on one’s self or just within the speaker.

Then you put the song title under the Column

BETWEEN if the thought requires someone to
receive it or it needs to be told to another person.

The teacher checks the answers of the students.

Let me ask you, from those that you have put under I tried saying “ I will survive” when I got failing grade

THE TYPES OF SPEECH CONTEXT, specifically the
intrapersonal and Interpersonal communication.
So, proceeding to our discussion proper, let me show
you our lesson objectives:

that we use in order to communicate and transmit
message. At times, we communicate to our own self,
but in most cases, we communicate with others. How

So what is speech context? Speech context is the way that people use to
communicate and transmit message orally or
verbally.

context but for today’ s session we will just focus on
the first two- the intrapersonal and interpersonal
communication.

I am more into small group discussion since most of
the time when I’m in school, I’m with friends,
classmates, and teachers, and when I’m home I
always talk with my parents, siblings, cousins, and
even our neighbors.
I often experience small-group communication
whenever we have chatty conversations with friends,
and whenever I call my best friend via phone, I
experience interpersonal communication.
