PHYSICS QUIZ SHOW YEAR-19

MECHANICS
A. Registration

Each participating school may send at most two (2) bonafide junior high
school student.

B. Contest Proper

1. The contest shall be divided into two parts with the contest proper
having three(4) rounds:
a. Elimination Round
b. Contest Proper
Easy Round - 10 questions – 1 point each
Moderately Difficult Round - 10 questions – 2 points each
Difficult Round - 10 questions – 3 points each
2. Calculator is not allowed.
3. The quiz bee is an individual contest. The questions will cover topics
from the following categories:
(a) mechanics,
(b) heat and thermodynamics,
(c) electricity and magnetism, and
(d) special relativity and physics general information/history.
4. Each contestant must answer the questions within the specified time.
Ten seconds is allotted for each question unless otherwise specified. The
contestant must write the answer on the answer sheet provided and
submit them to the designated proctor.
5. For multiple-choice questions, the contestant must write the letter of the
correct answer.
6. For problem-solving questions, the contestant must write the numerical
value of the answer with the appropriate unit of measurement.
7. Only the contestant or the coach can raise a complaint or query of
protest. It shall be done before the reading of the next question.
8. The decision of the panel of judges shall be final and unappealable.
9. The contestants with the first three highest accumulated scores will be
declared champion, first and second runners-up.
10. In case of a tie, clincher questions will be asked.

PHYSICS QUIZ SHOW YEAR-19

1. The winners shall receive medals, certificate of recognition and cash

prize. The school of the winning team will receive a trophy.
2. All the participants shall be given certificates of participation.
