Plan for India to increase jobs creation and to bring down

unemployment
In developing countries, like India, where labour market is highly segmented, there
are three demographic groups who are in dire need of jobs-

1. Growing number of better educated youth.

2. Uneducated agricultural workers who are willing to opt out of agricultural
activities.
3. Increasing number of educated women.

The Indian government has launched several programs focusing on the above-
mentioned groups to increase employment. However, the recent randomized tests
carried out to test the effectiveness of such programs and policies have shown that
the impact on job creation is very limited. In contrast, higher employment incomes
have little or no impact on the country's GDP. However, the government must strive
to do something to eliminate opposition to people and businesses in order to find the
best match and increase the rate of jobs to accommodate the growing population.
India will adopt a radical approach to curb rising unemployment levels in such
distress.

1) Labour-intensive industries: In India, there are a variety of labour-intensive

manufacturing sectors, such as food processing, leather and shoes, wood and
furniture producers, textiles, apparel and accessories. For the neglected
labour-intensive market, benefits and strategies can be formulated.
2) Skill Development Programs: Increasing the number of skill development
programs undertaken and ensuring work support for trained people would
increase the number of young people, women enrolling for skill development
programs.
3) Public investments: The private health sector continues to expand in the
absence of higher public spending, which only raises household health costs
without actually improving health outcomes. Government initiatives to raise
awareness and improve disease preventive measures will encourage more in
government hospitals.
4) Improvising schools: At secondary and higher secondary levels, the number
of teachers required is very high, especially in science and mathematics.
Many new government jobs can be created if more young people can be
trained to become science and mathematics teachers at the secondary and
higher secondary levels.
