Chapter 2: METHODOLOGY

Quantitative data study is used in this research, because it has mathematical

analysis of data or statistics. Descriptive research design is the selected

instrument for this study. The researchers used the descriptive research design as

the experiment as the study’s proposed objective. This experiment is pointing

out the question ‘what is’ and connected it to this study that questions the

respndents “ what are the impacts of cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking to

them.” There are 72 selected senior highschool students gathered from different

schools. The respondents answered the questionnaires after the school hours.

Thus, approved by the senior highs school department head, the school principal

and the administrator. The respondents were askes to snswer strongly agree,

agree, strongly disagree and disagree, that is based from the likert scale

RESEARCH DESIGN

The researcher used quantitative data study in order to answer the main research

question. Descriptive research design is used to gain more informations in given

samples using quantifitable descriptors. It involves the use of frequency count,

likert scale, weighted mean and the percentage in answering the research

question.

The researcher used purposive samling it is a non-probability sampling method

it relies on the objective judgement of the researchers. Wherein the respondents

were chosen according to their characteristics needed in the study. Closed-ended

questions is used to gather all the datas or quantitative information.

SOURCES OF DATA

The source of data that was used in this research is quantitative. The number of

sample is 72 various students from different schools residing in Dau Pampanga.

The primary source of data were from the questionnaires that was distributed by

the researchers to the respondents. The researcher used the internet to search for

the literature review. The researchers used articles and other things on the

internet.

LOCALE AND POPULATION

The researchers gathered datas from various schools located in Dau. The

researchers distributed 31 questionnaires to the students of Jose C. Feliciano

College Foundation, secondly, 21 questionnaires distributed to the students of

Clark College and lastly, 20 questionnaires were given to the students of AISAT.

The total of the respondents are 72 students.

INSTRUMENTATION AND DATA COLLECTION

Quantitative approach is used in the study in order to achieve the exact datas.

The research instrument that was used in this study to gather data is

questionnaires.

Upon answering the questionnaires by the respondents. The researcher tallied it

in order to know the result of the questionnaires. In collecting he datas the

researchers gave the questionnaires personally to the resondents. but before the

researchers conducted the research they ask permission to the school and to the

respondents by showing the the letter.

TREATMENT OF DATA

In terms of treating the datas the researcher used microsoft excel to analyse the

data that was collected from the questionnaires. The researcher used this

instrument to get the weighted mean of each results.

CHAPTER 3: PRESENTATION AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

The questionnaires was given to the respondents in this day of October only

after the class hours of the Senior High School students. Before the

questionnaires given to the students, the researchers asked first the permission

to conduct a brief survey to the students that hs been approved by the Head

Department, the School Principal and lastly the School Administrator.
