1 We spent lots of time in the text book which was good for learning, however, I feel like having to submit a 250 word response before each class should not have been
needed, perhaps shorter.
2 There was a lot of information. Maybe a little too much to digest in one semester.
3 There is a lot of work for an intro-level course, but it does set you up well for higher-level classwork later on.
4 Professor Herbertz is so passionate about what he does and receptive to giving students hands-on experience. It has been an absolute pleasure taking this course!

1 Such a great class i learned so much here. This should really be a prerequisite class for the graphic design kids to teach them how to use adobe.
Overall, I think this class was a good continuation of Media Foundations. The class was in the same format and included similar topics, but I definitely learned some
new programs and many new design skills. My main issue with the class was that the students in it had a very wide range of design abilities. It ranged from people who
had never opened Photoshop before to one student who was a senior graphic design major. I feel like this huge discrepancy in ability levels made peer evaluations and
group projects more difficult than Media Foundations. When completing peer-evaluations, I felt like I needed to take people's skill levels into account before critiquing
2 their work. In group projects, I found it difficult if one person was at a much higher level than me and they breezed through an assignment without me having a chance to
learn. On the other hand, if I was at a higher skill level than someone else than it felt like I was being held back or could not honestly critique their choices because of
the fact that they had simply never learned something that I knew. I think adding prerequisites for the course would be an effective and simple way to solve this
problem. I think Professor Herbertz did a good job teaching the course. He started teaching here around the same time that my class began and I can tell how much he
has improved as a professor over the past couple of years. One of my favorite things that we did in the course was using Adobe XD to create an app, so that is
something that I definitely think should be continued in the following semesters.
3 Compared to my previous experience, I can already see the advancements I've made in my design capabilities. I enjoyed the "project-based" curriculum as it allowed me
to apply readings rather than simply being lectured on them. I think the projects were very well spread out and expectations were made clearly.
Based on the technology and programs used for the duration of this course, there should be a prerequisite for this course that effectively teaches students how to use
4 adobe programs. This course had an expectation of students being able to efficiently use certain programs that I had very little exposure to and had to learn alongside
the material our professor was teach and requiring of us.
