Scope, Focus and Limitation

This study will focus on the feasibility of the production and sale of Grilled Balut in

Zamboanga City. It also aims to study the profitability of establishing a Grilled Balut stall. The

study will be further illustrated on the five major aspects, namely: marketing, management,

technical, financial and socio-economic of the business.

The target markets of the proposed product are: teenagers between the ages of 13 to 19,

young adults under the age bracket of 20 to 30 and adults between the ages of 31 to 40. These

individuals are those that are familiar with the Filipino exotic street food, Balut - and have the

purchasing ability to consume the proponents’ proposed product.

In addition, the proponents’ will also study on the competitors within the barangay of

Canelar, Camino Nuevo, and along the streets of Governor Camins.as a comparative basis of the

proposed business to determine the number of demand from the target market. These competitors

will be street foods sold in mini-carts and stalls, as well as balut vendors and the suppliers where

they purchase their supply of street foods and raw balut. This will also serve as a basis in

determining the projected financial performance for the first five years of operations.

Moreover, in conducting the survey, the proponents’ will only limit the questionnaires to

individuals who resides within the barangay of Canelar, Camino Nuevo and Governor Camins.

The information derived from the survey from the chosen respondents will also help in

determining the demand for the product, its profitability and the overall feasibility of the study.
