Engaged Learning Statement
From 12 hour work days to setting up a Century Stand, Florida Southern students selected to work on My Florida Home will
gain coveted experience working on a professional film set. Students have been hired to work as associate producers, script
supervisors, production assistants, grips, and art direction assistants. This unique collaboration between industry insiders
and Florida Southern has been supported by a student-faculty collaboration grant, as part of the College’s goal to support

more engaged learning opportunities for its students. As the film nears production in mid-July, $4,000 is still needed to
complete the project. Your support will help Florida Southern communications students gain unique experience that will set
them apart from their peers as they head into careers in public relations, film, broadcast news, and more.
