BIOGRAPHY
Year of entry: 2015
Vivek is a PhD candidate in the Technology and Operations Management (TOM) department at INSEAD. He
holds a B.Tech and a M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur,
India. His Masters' specialization is in Manufacturing Systems and Engineering.
In his research, Vivek uses empirical approach and field experiments. His research interests include
Behavioral Operations, Manufacturing Networks and Supply Chain Management. In his research, he studies
implication of human behavior on large scale operations and how to nudge people to improve behavior and
performance. Working closely with startups, he is trying to understand and improve driving behavior of
individuals.
Before joining INSEAD, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company. Prior to that, he worked with ITC
Limited, one of the largest FMCG firms in India as an Operations Manager. He also holds a diploma in fine
arts.
