Review of EIA report of Tato-II Hydroelectric Project with specific reference to aquatic

ecology.

It is important to study aquatic ecology of a river to predict the likely impacts of proposed
hydro powerplant to its aquatic fauna and flora. Therefore,in this report CISMHE team studied
the aquatic fauna and flora of Siyom river and its tributary Yarjep. Aquatic flora comprises of
algae in suspended form (plankton) and benthic form (phytobentos). Aquatic fauna includes
zooplankton, micro-invertebrates and fish & fisheries. A quantitative and qualitative study was
done for these components of Siyom river and its tributaries.

My part of review only focuses on the study of micro flora present in these two rivers. At the
time of study micro flora of Siyom and yarjep river was comprised of 4 species each belonging
to Chlorophyceae (green algae), Cynophyceae (blue algae) and
