Dear Sirs,
Further to the latest EXXONMOBIL MESQAC, SELMA designs, manufactures & installs
worldwide the Integrated Combined Monitoring, Recorder & Alarm System that fulfills the
following new requirements for Tankers:
MESQAC
(Marine Environmental Safety and Quality Assurance Criteria for Tanker Vessels)
SELMA System is interconnected with Existing Bridge Wind Instrument Signal NMEA,
Synchro or Analogue in order to implement recording in CCR and Remote Visual/Audible
Alarm on Deck.
ExxonMobil H30/31/H11a: The vessel MUST be fitted with a cargo tank pressure
monitor display and alarm unit on the bridge in addition to the display and alarm unit
installed in the cargo control room.
SELMA System decodes the serial signal from any type of Existing CCR Console Maker
and repeat/monitor the Cargo Oil Tank Vapour Pressure Values in the Wheelhouse with
4 Alarm Set Points per Cargo Oil Tank or install new pressure sensors.
ExxonMobil H2: It is Strongly Preferred that vessels are fitted with a device in the CCR
capable of monitoring and recording the load and discharge manifold pressure
outboard of each port and starboard manifold valve.
SELMA System comprises New Pressure Sensors that are installed on Manifold Outlets
i.e. 3 Port & 3 Stbd or it is interconnected with existing sensors in order to implement
Recording in CCR.
CCR INDEPENDENT BUNKER TANK GAUGING & HIGH LEVEL ALARM SYSTEM
ExxonMobil H17: Tank Level Measuring Devices MUST be available for all cargo tanks,
slop tanks and bunker tanks (including Storage, Service and Settling Tanks).
Automatic Fixed Tank Gauges are Strongly Preferred. Where automatic tank gauges are
fitted, these MUST have remote readings in the CCR.
ExxonMobil H22: Independent high-level alarms MUST be fitted for all cargo tanks,
slop tanks, fuel and diesel oil bunker tanks in addition to the high-level alarms
incorporated in the fixed/automatic tank gauging system. The independent high-level
alarms MUST have separate wires (feeders) back to the CCR.
ExxonMobil H7A: Automatic Fixed Tank Gauges, Tank Level Measuring Devices and
Independent High-Level Alarms MUST be fitted in all cargo, slop and Bunker Tanks
(including storage, service, and settling tanks) with Remote Readout and Alarm in
the CCR.
SELMA System comprises Independent High Level Switch Sensors & Level Pressure
Transmitters for Bunker Tanks with Remote Tank Gauging/Volume Calculation & Alarm
System in CCR.
Please note that the above SELMA Recorder/Monitoring/Alarm Systems are offered as
Stand Alone or at any Combination as an Integrated System in CCR.
2.2.4.5.4 Two oxygen sensors shall be positioned at appropriate locations in the space or
spaces containing the inert gas system. If the oxygen level falls below 19%, these sensors
shall trigger alarms, which shall be both visible and audible inside and outside the space
or spaces and shall be placed in such a position that they are immediately received by
responsible members of the crew.
