What is Blood disorder?

Blood disorder is a condition that happens when blood doesn’t have enough healthy red blood
cells or hemoglobin that carries oxygen. Women, young children and people with long term
diseases are more likely to have Blood disorder.

Blood disorder Symptoms:


Symptoms generally include:

Dizziness fast or unusual heart beat. Headache, pain including in bones, chest, belly, and joints
Problems with growth, for children and teens Shortness of breath skin that’s pale or yellow
swollen or cold hands and feet tiredness or weakness vision problems.

Causes of Blood disorder:

Different types of blood disorder have different causes. They include:

 Iron deficiency Blood disorder. This most common type of Blood disorder is caused by a
shortage of iron in body because bone marrow needs iron to make hemoglobin.
 Vitamin deficiency Blood disorder. Besides iron, body needs folate and vitamin-B12 to
produce enough healthy red blood cells.
 Aplastic Blood disorder. This rare, life threatening Blood disorder occurs when body
doesn’t produce enough red blood cells.
 Blood disorder’s associated with bone marrow disease. Leukemia and myelofibrosis, can
cause Blood disorder by affecting blood production in bone marrow.
 Hemolytic Blood disorder. This group of Blood disorder develops when red blood cells
are destroyed faster than bone marrow can replace them.

 Sickle cell Blood disorder. It’s caused by a defective form of hemoglobin that forces red
blood cells to assume an abnormal crescent (sickle) shape.
