INSPECTION, TAGGING & COLOR CODING SOP

1. INTRODUCTION 1
The main objectives of this procedure is to ensure all the equipment’s, hand tools, electrical
tools, firefighting equipment’s, machineries etc. are inspected, tagged & color coded.

2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for all the activities in construction sites ofat Laffan Aluminum
Factory.

3. PURPOSE
To ensure the safety of the workers working under the Laffan Aluminum Factory

4. RESPONSIBILITIES
General Manager
 Make sure all violations/ reports shall be fixed immediately or timely manner.
 Attend the monthly safety walk through and give full support to his crew for closure of
findings.

HSE Representatives
 Shall conduct daily site inspection using – Safety Daily Inspection Checklist (LAF-
HSE-FM-023), issue his observation, follow up & close.
 Organize regular inspection on lifting equipment’s, machineries, electrical tools/ hand
tools etc. And tag defined color code on them.
 Participating monthly site safety walk through.
 Prepare reports based on the findings from the monthly site safety walk through,
follow up, closure and send the report to the General Manager.

Production Manager/ Production Engineer/ Supervisors


 Make sure reported violations and observations shall be responded quickly.

5. PROCEDURE
5.1 Daily Site Safety Inspection
HSE Representative conducts daily site safety inspections in every location of activities
using Safety Daily Inspection Checklist (LAF-HSE-FM-023). And give his observations
related to activities through same form to the responsible person to take immediate
action.

HSE Representative shall follow up & shall close the daily inspection form at the end of
the day and maintain the records properly. In case if don’t get immediate response from

the responsible person then HSE Representative shall issue the Safety Violation Report
(LAF-HSE-FM-013) and raise the issue to Project General Manager & HSE
Representative for further action.

5.2 Monthly Safety Walk Through 2


HSE Representative shall prepare monthly Safety Walk Through schedule for every
projectfactory facilities by the end of the month and communicate it to the all the
interested parties.
Site Safety Walk through shall conducted with presence of QHSE Manager, Project
General Manager or his appointee, Site Crew and HSE Representative of the site. All
evidence of positive and negative observations shall be collected and closure dates of
negative observation shall be agreed on siteat factory and HSE representative shall
follow up to closure of negative observation.
HSE Representative shall prepare monthly safety walk through report within 3 working
days and communicated to all the interested parties including top management.

5.3 Inspection and& Color coding onof Machineries, Lifting Equipment’s/


Ladders/ Hand Tools/ Electrical Tools and& Equipment’s etc.
HSE Representative shall register all materialsmachineries, power tools and&
equipment’s subject to regular inspection and update registry regularly.
HSE Representative shall conduct monthly inspection on the registered
materialsmachineries, tools &and equipment’s together with competent person (if
required) and tag defined color code on above mentioned items.

Laffan Aluminum Factory shall follow the color coding systems of Qatar Building
Company shall be as defined in here the below table:

5.4 Monthly Inspection of Fire Fighting Systems


HSE Representative shall register all the fire extinguishers including their locations;
conduct monthly inspection of fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment’s
and initiate their monthly inspection tags.
