Proposal IMRD CAPSTONE
Proposal IMRD CAPSTONE
INTRODUCTION
March is being observed as Fire Prevention Month here in the Philippines in our generation
many people experience fire or burn their houses according to the recent report of Bureau of
Fire Protection (2018) has recorded a total of 14, 316 fire incidents from January 1 to December
27. Fires are destructive and it can break out anytime and anywhere. It can result to devastating
situations such as death and it can burn down entire properties within minutes.majority are
experiencing the fire or burning of their homes most likely located in squatters area in Metro
Manila because when they experience a sudden loss of power or they called brownout they often
use the candle or lamps to give them instant light. So my inspiration for doing this kind project is
for the people who lives in squatters area. Tesla experimented with a number of different
configurations and they consist of two, or sometimes three, coupled resonant electric circuits.
Tesla used these coils to conduct innovative experiments in electrical lighting, phosphorescence,
x-ray generation, high frequency alternating current phenomena, electrotherapy and the
transmission of electrical energy without wires or wireless like the light bulb. The early Tesla
coil transformer design employs a medium- to high-voltage power source, one or more high
voltage capacitor(s), and a spark gap to excite a multiple layer primary inductor with periodic
General Problem: How can this help citizens who want to prevent a fire from causing a candle or
1. Do you think this kind of project is reliable and powerful enough than the usual use of a
candles or lamps during brownout and can it help the owner of the house?
2. If using DIY ( Do It Yourself ) Mini Tesla Coil is better than the original one Tesla
Coil?
3. How will it helps to the owner of the house to prevent burning the house ?
The main purpose of this Capstone Project is to know the efficiency of the DIY (Do It Yourself)
Mini Tesla Coil the purpose of this project is to help other people reduce the cause of fire on their
house due to the use of candles and lamps. Also to reduce the cost of rebuilding a house due to the
fire.
Research Hypotheses
Ho: “DIY ( Do It Yourself ) Mini Tesla Coil (Slayer Exciter)” does not effective in helping people
to prevent the burning of a house by cause of using a candle or lamp and can’t help because it is
wireless and you only use CFL ( Compact Fluorescent Lamplight) light bulbs when there is
emergency.

the burning of a house by cause using a candle or lamp and this is a great help because it is wireless
and you only use CFL ( Compact Fluorescent Lamplight) light bulbs when there is emergency.
DIY (Do It Yourself) Mini Tesla Coil (Slayer Exciter)
This study will solve the one of the major problem of BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection) and
that is the burning of some houses especially in Metro Manila this kind of project is to save a
The focus of this study is to create a innovative project that can perform to help a person
to reduce his/her thinking about how they can avoid the danger of a fire just because of a candle
or lamp.
The study is delimited to the person who lives in squatters area, living in Heritage Homes
Marilao, Bulacan. It only aimed to know the rate of efficiency of the project.
METHOD
Generally, this part will describe how you will create and develop the project, analysis plan and
the ethical consideration. The section describing measurement techniques should include some test
of validity and reliability. In addition, the who, what, when, and where of data collection procedure
will be used.

Proposed Innovation/Intervention/Strategy
This technology invented has capable of illuminating a simple wireless bulb through the use of
Mini Tesla Coil as well as the safety of the homeowner that they can avoid fire and less expensive
Procedures
1. Part 1 : You'll need to buy all the materials needed and also the equipment
2. Part 2 : First take a 7 inches PVC pipe and make a small hole by using a hot wire into the both
ends of the PVC where the ends of magnetic copper wire will be pass it through into the small
hole, wrap 150 turns of magnetic copper wire into the PVC then insert the excess magnetic
3. Part 3 : Then put a # 22 insulated copper wire and make it 4 turns on the lower side of PVC
with magnetic copper wire then remove the tip of insulation from the wire using scissors or
sandpaper.
4. Part 4 : And the next step is to take a breadboard and prepare the 2 pcs 10k ohm’s, 2pcs 1k
ohm’s and the transistors. Refer to your mentor on how to properly integrate the10k ohm’s and
the 1k ohm’s resistors for the step of series and put the center of 2N222 NPN transistor into the
end of the resistor, led and place the wires in the assign area on the breadboard hole.
6. Part 6 : You could put a ball of aluminium on top to make it look like those Tesla Coils every

7. Part 7 : Connect the battery of a circuit and watch the CFL light up when you bring it close
by!
The researcher will use scaling and interview method. A set of questions will be given and ask on
the respondents or citizen and I will let them to rate it a star (where 1 star is strongly unsatisfied
and 5 star is strongly satisfied). Then, will analyze by their answers to come up with the
You should always be careful when installing resistors and transistors on the breadboard
Make sure all the materials that you will need is good quality.
Make sure your Capstone Project is far away to the water to prevent the elecricity flow
to your body.
Make sure the amount of voltage are capable to your DIY ( Do It Yourself ) Mini Tesla
Coil.
