SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ORAL COMMUNICATIONN

I. OBJECTIVE

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Distinguish the different types of speech style;

b. Identifies social situations in which each speech style is appropriate to use;

c. Apply each speech style in the context of communication;

d. Appreciate the importance of a suitable approach in every situation, person, and place.

SUBJECT MATTER:

a. Topic: Speech styles

b. References: Oral Communication on Context textbook, pp.

c. Time allotment: 1 hour

d. Instructional Material: Powerpoint Presentation

III. PROCEDURE

a. Review

(The teacher will ask the student about the past lesson.)

b. Presentation of the Lesson

The teacher will show pictures and ask the students to identify what should be the topic contained in
each scene. The teacher will also give a pre-activity for the students.

C. Discussion

The teacher will discuss the different speech style with the interaction of the student.

D. Generalization

* What is the importance of knowing the different speech style?

E. Application

In groups of 5, let the students make a short skit applying the different speech style assigned to them.

IV. ASSESSMENT
Pen and paper test.
