Importance of Studying Philippine Literature

We need to study Philippine Literature in order for us to promote the

richness of our culture not only to our own language but in other language
as well. We need to read and cultivate literary works or piece to
understand the existence of Philippine Literature and its importance. I
admire those writers who displayed good vocabularies and imaginative in
their own writings. Their writing captures not only the minds but the
hearts of their readers which can go from generations to generations. Now
as students, why do we need to study Philippine literature. Firstly, it could
help enhance our writing communication skills.

It could enrich our vocabularies and apply critical thinking to analyze

characters motivations for their actions when writing. Secondly, it builds
empathy towards others because I believe that successful writers uses more
emotions when writing by putting more heart into it. You can feel the pain,
joy, triumph and even lose. Studying

Philippine literature would encourage us to have a broad knowledge of

vocabularies to express freely different emotions and as we cultivate it
gradually it would help us acquire good communication skills.

Thirdly, it would help us become more imaginative, more expressive and

more humane.

Studying Philippine literature will not only educate us but will also enrich
our knowledge on our culture and our heritage. It can nurture the love for
our country and the love for our freedom. It can teach us to express our
thoughts freely and in an imaginative way though communication. It can
shape us to become good communicators using both our minds and hearts.

If we really study literature and able to know how to write different types
of it we will be able to master the art of communicating with others. We
know that communicating is very important in all of us. In work we do
many reports and letters and if we can communicate well it would be very
useful. In many teacher communicating is very important because to teach
and to communicate with the student is two different things. In
Transferring ideas and knowledge to the student communication is very
important. So studying literature will benefit us many things.
