INSTRUCTION SHEET

Using Mercury EPC (EZ Parts 5) with Total Control Software

1. Request and install your copy of the “Off Line EZ Parts 5” from Mercury Midas
help desk. Follow the instructions for the network installation. If you have
problems with the installation of EZ Parts, please call your Mercury Help Desk for
support. We at Total Control Software are unable to assist in the installation and
maintenance of EZ Parts 5 software. Once installed and working properly on all
work stations, continue with step 2.
2. Open Total Control Software Parts & Service and go to File/Interface
Settings/Set Path For All ARI Products Midas Files and Honda IN.

3. Choose the location of your TCS Install (example C:\WINBOAT). If you are
unsure as to the install location, go to Help/System Information. Write down the
“Program Location” exactly as shown. In the picture, we are showing the program
running from a UNC or network location. Enter this as shown or click the …
button and locate the location of your TCS software.

4. Open the EZ Parts 5 program, go to Tools/Options/Pick List DMS When filling out
the options, please note that the export path requires a “\Merc” on the end, this
folder was added by TCS during the install of the program update. Leave Check
Stock Program blank fill the others just like the illustration. Click OK and you
should be done.

Using EZ Parts 5 is much the same as the old Mercury EPC. Open your parts
diagram and in the “Schematic Parts List Area”, you will see a list of the Part
Numbers and other information about the parts.

5. To see if you have the part on hand simply “Right Click on the highlighted part
and choose “View DMS”. A window from TCS will pop open and display part and
order information.

6. To add the item to the TCS PO Pad, simply “Right Click on the highlighted part
and choose “View DMS”. A window from TCS will pop open and display part and
order information. Clicking the “Order Button”, will open the PO Pad form and
add the item to the TCS Order Pad for processing.

7. Creating a pick list is also very easy. Right click on the item you want to add to
your pick list, then left click on “Add to pick list”. The “Add item to pick list” form
will display click the “Add” button to add the item to the current pick list.

8. Once you are ready to export your pick list over to TCS click the “Pick List” icon
(Last Icon to right) and a list of all of your pick lists will appear. Click the “Export”
button to export your pick list to TCS.

9. A “Save Midas Pick List” window will come up, with the current date and time as
the pick list name. You can rename the pick list to anything you want then click
the save button. The pick list will be placed in TCS Parts & Service under
Parts\Saved Pick Lists under the name that you gave it.

Updating Mercury Price Books


Beginning the first of August 2016, TCS will post a full Mercury Marine Price Book
File in the TCS Utilities program each month.
1. If you wish to update more frequently, Log into MercNet. Go to Service &
Warranty/Electronic Parts Catalog
2. After EZPartsWeb starts go to User Resources/ASCII File Export Web
3. The process may take several minutes. Save the file in a location where you
know where it is.
4. Open TCS Pricebook and Utilities go to Mercury/Mercury From Internet LKU new
Format. Locate the file you just downloaded and click OPEN.
