NEWSLETTER
PUBLIC LIBRARY DEC | JAN | FEB
As the New Year approaches, resolutions often come to mind from health to routine habits. Here at
the library, we are evaluating all that we’ve heard from you during our Strategic Planning Process.
Connecting community, enriching lives, and inspiring ideas for an engaged community that embraces
lifelong learning and understanding defines our library resolution: Connecting YOU in 2020.
What does that mean for our library patrons? Here is a small sampling of what we offer to help you
achieve personal, educational, or professional resolutions of your own:
• Customer Service—a continuation of our friendly and knowledgeable service as a team.
• Engagement—increased commitment to community events and new and returning partnerships
like the annual Community Youth Art Fair.
• Books & Media—popular titles, movies, audiobooks, magazines, music, and digital access through
hoopla, cloudLibrary, Digital Library of Illinois, Flipster, and coming this December, Kanopy’s movie
streaming service.
• Research Materials—online education with Lynda.com, featuring step-by-step video tutorials on
software, apps, media, marketing, business, and technology; Mango Languages, for those wanting
to learn a new language, including English Language Learners (ELL); or, a variety of student-based
learning resolutions from ABC Mouse to Academic Search Premier.
• Programs—for all ages, highlighted throughout this newsletter.
• Services—notary services, remote printing, test proctoring, Tech Time
for one-on-one assistance, availability of income tax appointments, voter
registration, homebound services, Museum Adventure Passes, study rooms,
Census 2020 information, and more.
Thank you to our Friends of the Library and our Library Foundation for their
continued support. We look forward to “Connecting YOU in 2020!”
