INTRODUCTION
Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV)
System

Sound and vibration should be one of the

interest topic for ACMV designer, not that
they are part of the primary cooling functions
but because they are secondary factors which
if not properly handled, can destroyed an
otherwise successful ACMV installation.
ACMV SYSTEM
Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ)
More positive numbers indicate greater
satisfaction and more negative numbers indicate
greater dissatisfaction. Results show that
occupants are dissatisfied with the acoustics of
the buildings

ACMV SYSTEM
Noise and Vibration
A problem arises when an ACMV system component
generates noise or vibration within or adjacent to an
occupied space.

Solution Approach
 Understand the basic principles of acoustics and how
noise — unwanted sound is produced, how it
propagates, and how it is controlled.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTION
Source controls
ADVANTAGES

•Adjustable, simple and easy to

1 install (IBS concept)

2 •Reduce ‘structure borne noise’

3 •Reduce building structure load
