Projects Handled in Reliance (As a Client):

 HPIB Project: High Purity Isobutene (105 KTA) – Part of J3 Jamnagar phase 3 Program (Under
commissioning) Estimated project capex $250 Mn, Number of equipment involved 258 (piece count)
Project duration 46 months.
 Ethane integration project – Integrated 5 different phases of project viz. Ship manufacturing, Jetty
modification, Storage tank facility creation, Cross country pipe line (480 km), Ethane cracker
modification along with associated OSBL facility augmentation. (2015-18)

 LLDPE Train-2 Debottlenecking project – Approx. capex $70 Mn, Number of packages / equipment
involved – 70 Nos, Expected project duration 23 months (2017-18)
 PBR-III Project: Poly Butadiene Rubber Project (40 KTA) at Hazira, Surat – Commissioned
Actual Project Capex $100 Mn, Number of equipment involved 483 (Piece count), Actual project
duration 33 months (2011-14).
 JERP: Jamnagar Export Refinery Project – OSBL – Commissioned.
New refinery of 650 KBSPD capacities has put up Reliance in top refinery players with an overall
refining capacity of 1200 KBSPD. Jamnagar is now known as Refinery Hub of India. Total Project
capex $ 6 Bn. Duration 36 months.
 Other Minor projects having budget less than $ 100 Mn (Hazira OSBL integration project for
Elastomer complex, CPVC Pilot plant, MEG Revamp, 1-Hexene, Fire water / Raw water modification
project)
Accountabilities and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

 Key responsibilities mainly revolves around Planning, Scheduling, monitoring & controlling the vital
project parameters – Time & Cost
 Detail Engineering Contractor (DEC) evaluation / EP contractor evaluation / PMC evaluation.
Assessing their key strengths, work force capabilities, current loading, augmentation capacity,
infrastructure availability with respect to Project Controls.
 Formulate the Work Break Down structure.
 Scheduling in Primavera P6V7, MS Project – Hands on experience
 Prepare Management Summary (Level 1) schedule (Roll up), get the overall project duration
approved from Top Management, In line with L1, maintain integrated EPC – Engineering –
Procurement – Construction - L2 / L3 / L4 schedule (Roll down)
 Review & approve schedule basis put forwarded by DEC / EP contractor.
 Critical path analysis & preparation of mitigation plan usually on monthly basis & as per the
project demand.
 Prepare, update & monitor 90 days look ahead plan in absence of L2 / L3 / L4 schedule.
 Ensuring implementation of Document wise Lifecycle based progress measurement system, analyze
variances in actual performance against the plan through S-Curves, propose & execute mitigation
plans in consultation with Project Director / Project Manager.
 Prepare Payment milestones to execute detail engineering / EP contract. Validate & approve
payment milestone based invoices.
 MIS preparation – analytical reports helps in updating Top Management about the key highlights
for the reporting period, critical areas, productivity analysis, trend analysis, commodity release
profiles, Procurement & construction status, gathering inputs for front availability at site,

 monitoring site contract placement status etc.
 Leading cross functional meetings to smoothen project activities, viz. Inter disciplinary review
meetings, review meetings with OSBL interface, Procurement & construction team, review meeting
with other project stake holders like operations & Business etc.
 Maintaining Lessons learned, Change Management, Risk Management (Risk Register updation),
compilation of efforts put for Value engineering etc.
 Preparing Close out reports, analysis of historical data & projecting trend analysis.
Beyond Job Description

 One of the key strategic decision makers in the Projects.

 Working as an Admin for Online Knowledge Portal – Project Controls community
 Faculty for Boot camp (Training session for RIL employees) – Project Controls
 Streamlining material control activities through SAP & in house developed software
 Providing necessary inputs to Capex estimation / cost control team
 Preparation of Organization chart for projects & performing RAG analysis (Required – Available
– Gap) in consultation with Project Director. Gaps identified are then forwarded to HR
department to do the further needful.
 Prepare presentation / review package & Assist Project Manager for Apex Management Review
Meeting, Prepare & publish Minutes of Meeting (MOM) for all the concerned stakeholders
 Assisted for document preparation / guideline preparation as a part on Business Transformation
process of company (Standardization across Reliance Industries).
 Overall systematic co-ordination for smooth documentation flow, communication systems,
material handling systems, SAP integration.
 Assist Project Management team for periodic Audits
 Mentoring Trainees, new joiners
