Introduction
Senior high school or SHS refers to the last two years of K to 12 Program that has been
implemented by the Department of Education here in the Philippines since 2012-namely grades
11 and 12. Students are now required to choose their preferred senior high strands upon their
entrance and to begin studying the subjects that are going to introduce them to the career path
The senior high school program is further broken down into learning strands and career
tracks. There are currently four tracks composed of Academic, TVL/TLE, Arts and Design, and
Sports. The eight learning strands, meanwhile, are STEM, HUMSS, ABM, GAS, Home
Students face a number of academic challenges in Senior High School, including finding
time to study, understanding course content and maintaining a high degree of motivation. Along
with meeting these challenges, challenges often struggle to balance academic demands with

Under HUMSS strand are expected to have communication and interpersonal skills. One
of these challenges faced by the students under this strand is the reading and writing
requirements they have to finish. Under ABM strand readers’ students for the corporate world.
And one of the many challenges in ABM is the decision-making that students have to face.
Aside from those challenges, here are some Senior High School problems that every student can
relate:
Tight Budget- There are schools that require students to start with traditional art
before going to digital art. So, students need to buy a lot of various art materials to
Overwhelming Schedule- These maybe a problem for those who can’t seem to
manage their time well. Further, this may result in poor sleeping habits.
Lack of Skills- Lack of skills may hinder students to advance in their academics.
It may cause them to lose confidence and interest in their school performance and
concern. If you don’t have clear goals and an understanding of what you want to

According to Global Assignment help Australia, insufficient time is the most common
issue faced by the students all over Australia. They lack time to complete their assignments,

It was revealed in the study of Gudjons et al. (2009) that the students’ educational
problems were different in various study fields. There were significantly more problems in male
and non-native students (who are less supported by the families) compared to female and native
ones. Family, financial and health problems, lack of enough knowledge among students and
tutors about educational rules are the most important factors to the students’ educational
problem.
Akman (2007) conducted a study aimed to finding the problems of Turkish University
students and how their academic problems are related to their family problems and how their
age, gender, and identity status impacted the problems. The results of the study showed that there
is a direct relation between gender and identity- foreclosure and moratorium, and between age
and identity status. Depending on the evaluation of insensitivity and inconsistency with the
family, the Identity Achievement scores of the students decrease, however, the scores of

encounter many different academic, psychological, social health and economic problems. The
focus of these problems is different according to the areas, environment, economic situation and
social background but whatever the differences we can still get clues about how to find suitable
attendance and academic achievement of the child. Favorable attitude of towards schooling and
education enhances parental involvement in children’s present and future studies. Krashen
(2005) concluded that whose parents are educated score higher than standardized test than those
whose parents were not educated. Educated parents can better communicate with their children
regarding the school works, activities and information being taught at school. They can better
assist their children in their work and participate at school ( Fantuzzo and Tighe, 2000; Trusty

parents can provide such an environment that suits best for academic success of their children.
The school authorities can provide counselling and guidance to parents for creating positive

According to Aromin et al. (2016), the students at this age tend to have second thoughts
on which to prioritize move, their extra-curricular activities or their academic works. Extra-
curricular activities often cost money to participate in some sort of “pay-to-play” fee, (Wilson
2009).
In addition, scarcity of the resources is also one of the challenges of students as stated
by Global Assignment Help Australia. In some cases, the students cannot gather the relevant
information or materials needed for their project. Another is having no interest in the subject.

The data gathered were organized, tabulated and subjected to statistical treatment in order
to answer the questions of the study. Combinations of descriptive and inferential statistics were
used in the analysis and interpretation of data. Frequencies and percentages were employed to
describe the profile of the respondents of the study. The formulas are provided below;
