Corrosion control Engineering provides you with a thorough training in corrosion and
it’s control. Initially you will study the fundamental chemistry. Physics and metallurgy
under pinning corrosion process. You will learn about approuches to corrosion control,
ranging from material selection, through cathodic control, ranging from maretial
selection, through cathodic protection to coeeosion inhibition and protective coating.
Finally you will cover industrial scenories where knowledge of corrosion and it’s
control is paramount, such as in oil production.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

1 year for Doctor/professor degree or 0 year for Doctor/Professor and degree Master Majoring Metallurgy, Corrosion, Material,
Chemistry and Industrial Engineering, 2 years in project experience for Master degree, 3-4 years for Bachelor degree or 0-1 year
Majoring Metallurgy Engineering, Chemistry Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering and Material Engineering, and minimum 5–
7 years experience for High school diploma.

 The basic process of corrosion.
 Types of internal and external corrosion
 General corrosion, galvanic corrosion,intergranular
corrosion , selective corrosion , erosion corrosion and
stray current corrosion, SCC, microbiology corrosion,
hydrogen damage Standards, codes and regulations
(cathodic protectionmethode, coating and inhibitor -
corrosion monitoring)
 Coating design & construction, cathodic protection design,
inhibitor.
 CORROSION MONITORING & SURVEY
Corrosion Monitoring (inhibitor – laju korosi) , cathodic
protection survey , coating survey, coupon test, NDT.

 MATERIAL SELECTION & CORROSION CONTROL  Defect Corrosion Assessment in Failure Analysis (Example
(INHIBITOR, COATING & CATHODIC) pipe)

 Principal of Material Selection , material science including  Types of defects

the properties of steel and other materials
 Process of material selection, including code/standard
requirements
 Manufacturing process, including welding standards,
procedures and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques
for qualifications
 Failure modes
 Defect assessment, including the different codes and
standards used to carry out fit-for purpose assessments of
defects and damage
 Exercise on defect identification and assessment
 Case studies
