Introduction:
After the rapid increase in population of Pakistan, the demand of automobile has proliferated and
causing trafic hazard and accidents. Day by day the rate of accidents are increasing and causing
more deaths of precious lifes. To overcome this issue we are going to design a system in which in
case of any accident the alert messege is send to the nearest rescue team and they would reach
immediatley for the first aid.The system is based on IoT technology and in short for Internet of
Things. The Internet of Things refers to the ever-growing network of physical objects that
feature an IP address for internet connectivity, and the communication that occurs between these
objects and other Internet-enabled devices and systems. The proposed design is a system which
can detect accidents in significantly less time and sends the basic information to first aid center
within a few seconds covering geographical coordinates, the time and angle in which a vehicle
accident had occurred. This alert message is sent to the rescue team in a short time, which will
help in saving the valuable lives. Switch is also provided in order to terminate the sending of a
message in rare case where there is no casualty, this can save the precious time of the medical
rescue team.

Background:
In many research IoT has been used in vehicle tracking system to find the vehicle location. In the
hardware and software of the GPS and GSM network were developed. The proposed GPS/GSM
based System has the two sections, first is a mobile unit and another is controlling station. The
system forms, interfaces, connections, data transmission and gathering of information among the
mobile unit and control stations are working effectively. These outcomes are good with GPS
technologies.
In a vehicle tracking system is an electronic device, installed in a vehicle to enable the owner or
a third party to track the vehicle's place. This paper proposed to design a vehicle tracking system
that works using GPS and GSM technology. This system built based on embedded system, used
for tracking and positioning of any vehicle by using Global Positioning System (GPS) and
Global system for mobile communication (GSM). This design will continuously watch a moving
Vehicle and report the status of the Vehicle on demand.
But now using two technologies GPS and GSM we can be able to design a system in which we
can ensure the safety of the people by detecting the accident and informing the rescue team as
soon as possible for providing first aid to the victims.

Methodology and design:

The project is combined an accident detection mechanism with a VTS. Hardware used in this
project are listed below:
1. Arduino UNO REV3
2. GSM, GPS, GSRM Shied (SIM808)
3. Vibration Sensor (sw420)
4. LCD Display

Block Diagram of the project

Methodology:
The above block diagram explains the working procedure of the system which can be designed
for this project. Arduino is used for controlling whole the process with a GPS Receiver and
GSM module. GPS Receiver is used for detecting coordinates of the vehicle, GSM module is
used for sending the alert SMS with the coordinates and the link to Google Map. Accelerometer
namely ADXL335 is used for detecting accident or sudden change in any axis. And an optional
16x2 LCD is also used for displaying status messages or coordinate Actually this paper gives a
practical model of a vehicle accident detection and rescue information system which can do
routing, tracking of moving vehicle as well as detect accident in large area.

Problem statement:
To implement networking system by using IoT technology to inform the nearest police station
and hospital to receive notification about the accident occurrence and its location.
